(Special thanks to Promise of the Sky—thank you so much, as this is the first time since I started writing that I’ve had a league leader. Much appreciated. Also, thanks to brothers An Chao, Long Shao, Xu Ji, and Sage for their continued support, and to “You Don’t Know Me” for the tip. I didn’t expect so much generosity from everyone; I’m truly grateful. Today, I’m adding extra chapters—two more. I’m no writer who leaves chapters hanging. Let’s all support the work, thank you!)

As for the title “Director,” Wu Xiang felt it belonged to whoever deserved it. If he followed the studio’s promotional angle, he would have trouble sleeping—he’d feel like a thief stealing someone else’s credit.

Regarding touching Guan Hu, Wu Xiang hadn’t thought much about it. He simply believed that would be unfair.

As a film producer who didn’t meddle excessively in the movie itself, just busy handling the promotion of “Get On, Let’s Go,” Wu Xiang had already spent a lot of time. These things sound simple, but actually managing them wasn’t easy. And next, Wu Xiang had another task to handle.

“Xiao Bo, you’d better get ready and apply to film school,” Wu Xiang advised Huang Bo.

“Apply to film school?! Would they even want me?” Huang Bo couldn’t believe it. Though he really wanted to, with his looks, it seemed hopeless. No need to say more.

“No worries!” Wu Xiang made a knowing expression. Huang Bo almost burst into tears. Wu Xiang continued, “I’ll help you find someone. Your academic background...” Wu Xiang asked delicately, knowing this would embarrass Huang Bo.

“Well, my college entrance exam, and, uh...” Huang Bo flushed, struggling to explain.

No need to say more.

“It’s okay!” Wu Xiang insisted. “I’ll find a way to get you into film school, to help you improve! If undergrad isn’t possible, then vocational school—how about that?”

“Waaah...” Huang Bo really cried. “Brother Wu, you’re like a real brother to me!”

Wu Xiang was sweating—how did a grown man end up crying in his arms? What was going on?

No need to say more. The person Wu Xiang was going to seek out had to be Teacher Han Xiaolei. Who else could it be?

*Knock knock knock*... Wu Xiang once again approached the old, dilapidated building and knocked on Teacher Han’s door. The “To Be Demolished” signs were already posted outside. Soon, his teacher would have to move.

“Who’s there?” A woman’s voice came from inside.

“It’s me, Wu Xiang. I’m Teacher Han’s student.” Wu Xiang guessed it must be Teacher Han’s wife, as the voice sounded older.

“Oh, Wu Xiang!” The door opened immediately, revealing a sprightly old lady.

Wu Xiang recognized her at once—none other than Maodoudou’s mother-in-law, Bai Han.

Anyone in the TV industry would know the drama she appeared in. He hadn’t expected that his teacher’s wife would be the future mother-in-law of his wife. Wait—this relationship was complicated. Even someone as clever as Wu Xiang felt confused. What on earth was going on?

Forget it. No need to overthink. It wasn’t even certain his wife would act in that drama!

“Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Wu Xiang.” At this moment, Wu Xiang was being particularly polite. Not only did he speak well, but he also carried gifts in his hands.

“Hello to you too. I’m Bai Han, your teacher’s wife. We’ve been busy with filming, so we haven’t met before.” Bai Han was warm and welcoming. “Oh, child, why come bearing gifts?”

(Page 2/3)

Though she said that, Bai Han still accepted the fruits and presents Wu Xiang brought.

“Is Teacher Han at home?” Wu Xiang asked obediently.

“He’s inside.” Bai Han gestured for Wu Xiang to come in.

Just relax and don’t treat yourself like an outsider, Wu Xiang thought, as that had been his plan from the start.

“You’re here, boy!” Teacher Han had heard them arrive long ago. Now that his wife was present, he had to assert his teacher’s authority.

“Hello, Teacher.” Wu Xiang understood perfectly and greeted respectfully; Teacher Han was quite pleased.

Then the two began chatting.

“Are you from admissions? You take anyone? What do you take me for—some big shot at the Ministry of Education? You think getting into film school is like picking vegetables at the market?” Upon hearing Wu Xiang’s request, Teacher Han was furious. It was outrageous.

“Teacher, the person I’m recommending is really good. Trust me. He’s a genuinely good guy with huge potential. Most importantly, he knows how to work hard and has real drive. I believe in him.” Wu Xiang began his enthusiastic pitch. Being someone reborn, he knew what the future held, so he praised without hesitation.

“Why do I feel like you’re a matchmaker, making a hideous monster sound like a goddess?” Teacher Han wasn’t fooled by Wu Xiang’s words.

“No!” Wu Xiang denied being a matchmaker. “Xiao Bo isn’t ugly. He’s just not ‘handsome’—that’s all.”

“...” Teacher Han almost laughed in disbelief. He never expected Wu Xiang would hit some truths. But it seemed this kid was stubborn. “Fine! Let him take the exam. Whether he passes or not isn’t up to me.”

“Great! Your word means everything.” Having a recommendation was far better than none. Wu Xiang was delighted.

“You two, what are you arguing about?” Bai Han brought over a plate of fruit.

“Nothing. Haha, Teacher Han is just motivating me,” Wu Xiang said smoothly. He was quite the silver tongue, even he thought himself a language genius.

“Look at you old man, why get so worked up? Your student’s great! Hard to find someone like him!” Bai Han teased her husband.

“Bai Han, you flatter me. Teacher Han only wants the best for me,” Wu Xiang replied politely.

“Bah! I think he’s just senile. You’re such a good kid,” Bai Han said, warming to Wu Xiang.

“Hey! You two are in cahoots now?” Teacher Han was annoyed but helpless.

Next, they arranged for two teachers to tutor Huang Bo. He was definitely a rising star, and Wu Xiang had decided to seize the opportunity early.

By rights, these matters were less important than the post-production of Wu Xiang’s big project. But precisely because of that, he didn’t want to be distracted—he planned to finish all the messy affairs first.

(Page 3/3)

With “Get On, Let’s Go” and Huang Bo’s matters settled, Wu Xiang had one more place to visit: the Central Academy of Drama (CAD).

“Why go to CAD? Did you fancy a female classmate again?”

“Oh my God, if I liked someone, would I tell you? I’m going to CAD to watch a play.”

“To watch a play?”

Before heading to CAD, Wu Xiang had spoken to Hai Qing. Since this was a drama, he wanted her to come along. This wasn’t just any play—it was a stage drama.

Wu Xiang felt he wasn’t very familiar with stage plays. In film school, there were many chances to experience theater, but he was too focused on making movies to become an expert. Hai Qing, however, was different. As an outstanding student from the 1997 film school class, she had been rehearsing stage plays lately.

So why not go?

Hai Qing also wanted to see what CAD was like. She had once wanted to attend CAD herself.

Bringing along an ‘expert,’ Wu Xiang couldn’t let her down. Unfortunately, on the way, they only bought two bottles of green tea. Wu Xiang wanted to buy more, but Hai Qing refused. “If you buy so much, people will think there’s something going on between us! Besides, I’m trying to lose weight!”

Fine, saving money—it was nice to have such a considerate wife.

Upon arrival, someone greeted them; otherwise, Wu Xiang wouldn’t have gotten in. He had registered with the old gatekeeper.

They found seats in the rehearsal hall and casually settled in, sipping tea and watching.

The play was quite traditional, but soon, a shapely leg stretched out from behind the curtain, followed by...

*Pfft!*

Wu Xiang and Hai Qing both spat out their green tea!

What the hell!

Was that Deng Tuo? It was Deng Tuo, indeed. But this six-foot tall Deng Tuo was wearing three-inch high heels, a tight black dress, and his chest was quite prominent. That wasn’t all—the most bizarre part was the two big pigtails on his head!

This image was utterly shocking. What on earth was going on?

Wu Xiang and Hai Qing were completely stunned!
