Chapter 27: Exclusive Weapon

Falling four points behind right from the start had already left Kaze and Little Chrysanthemum, the two Tianlu starters, feeling rather embarrassed.
Even so, neither of them gave their teammates excessive instructions. They merely called out positions and communicated normally.
Otherwise, if the demo got out and people found out that the two of them had queued together in ranked while still having to use professional tactics, wouldn’t that be even more embarrassing?
Once Kaze and Little Chrysanthemum gradually started taking things seriously, they finally secured their first point. Unfortunately, there were still three other unpredictable teammates on the roster.
As Su Zhe’s attacking side found its rhythm, those three naturally became the new breakthrough point.
By the time the first half ended and the two sides switched, the score had reached 8–4.
“Are we actually going to win this?” July’s excited voice came through the headset. “If we really win, I can edit the demo and post it on a short-video platform too.”
“Just don’t edit it by treating Little Zhe as if he were you,” Fat Tiger said maliciously, making everyone on the team burst out laughing.
Little Qi opened the scoreboard. After seeing Su Zhe’s 13–7 K/D, he could not help sighing in admiration at how hard he was carrying.
Su Zhe was playing entry, after all, a role where one careless move could easily get him killed for nothing.
With a K/D ratio approaching 2.0, his contribution was enormous. Even a one-to-one ratio would already count as a major contribution to the team.
Little Qi opened his microphone and asked, “Little Zhe, are you still thinking about going pro?”
Su Zhe answered, “Of course. I just haven’t had the opportunity yet.”
After hesitating for a moment, Little Qi said over voice chat, “Why don’t you join our team? We’re playing in the city tournament next month, and there’ll be a chance to compete offline too.”
“I’ll think about it,” Su Zhe replied.
As his ranked rating continued to rise, quite a few people invited him to join teams they had formed themselves to compete in domestic tournaments. He turned every one of them down.
For one thing, he had no way of knowing whether the system would recognize such a team as a professional team.
For another, he was still in school. Without any certainty about the future, it would not be convenient for him to keep asking for leave just to play in these minor tournaments.
Hearing Su Zhe’s answer, Little Qi knew it was a polite refusal and did not bring the matter up again.
The second-half pistol round began, and they chose the standard three-A, two-B defensive setup.
After buying light armor, Su Zhe headed straight for the B site. From the CT spawn area, he repeatedly peeked toward the close angle of Banana.
Standing on top of the first box, Little Qi heard the dense footsteps coming from Banana while tucked against the wall. He immediately issued a warning.
“There are a lot of people close! Link, come help reinforce first!”
Fat Tiger, who was watching Connector, immediately rotated back from CT spawn.
Su Zhe heard this and focused his attention. When he peeked out again and spotted the terrorists, he controlled his movement and fired an anticipatory burst.
Missed...
Missed...
Hit!
“Pfft~”
[The Cape’s Number One Entry Fragger killed DouyinLuv with a USP headshot.]
After securing the kill, Su Zhe tried to repeat the same maneuver. But a Glock bullet had already predicted his position. The moment he shifted out, he took a bullet to the head.

With his health critically low, Su Zhe immediately behaved himself. He fell back and held the angle, preparing to act as bait for Little Qi, who was still on top of the box.
However, a CT smoke landed and ruined his plan, completely blocking the line of fire.
Su Zhe had intended to circle around through Church and help his teammates at the site, but the sight of the CT smoke in front of him stirred an inexplicable temptation.
By then, Fat Tiger had also arrived from Connector to reinforce them.
Su Zhe spoke into his microphone. “Make your footsteps louder when you enter Church...”
“No problem!”
Fat Tiger instantly understood what Su Zhe had in mind and entered Church with exaggerated, bouncing steps.
At that moment, Little Qi, who had just collected a toll from an enemy while standing on the box, jumped down beneath it. The terrorists were charging forward with heavy footsteps.
“Perfect!”
Su Zhe immediately slipped through the smoke.
When he saw the backs and sides of three terrorists, his mischievous side took over. He pulled out his default knife.
“Shhk~”
[The Cape’s Number One Entry Fragger killed Kaze with a knife.]
Money +1,500.
“Holy shit! He came out of the smoke! Why wasn’t anyone holding it?”
Kaze, who had been watching Coffins to protect his teammates from a flank, was startled by the sudden kill.
His teammate asked, “Weren’t you holding it?”
Kaze: “...”
Su Zhe wanted to repeat the trick, but the terrorists reacted quickly as well. One highly sensitive player suddenly turned 180 degrees and took him down, leaving him with only a single point of health.
By then, however, it no longer mattered. Little Qi had stalled the terrorists for far too long from the box.
That gave Fat Tiger in Church enough time to secure a rifle, while the teammates at A had also rotated over one after another.
After losing the second-half pistol round, Kaze knew the game was already hopeless.
They had been far behind to begin with. After losing such a crucial pistol round, how were they supposed to come back?
He said irritably, “Why does this C-plus player’s style feel so greasy to me?”
Little Chrysanthemum nearly choked when he heard that. “You’re still calling him a C-plus player? He’s about to become number one on the platform. Is ‘greasy’ supposed to praise him or insult him?”
Kaze shook his head. After recalling the previous rounds, he said, “I don’t know. He just makes me feel uncomfortable. Some of his details are executed beautifully, while in other places he’s incredibly rough.”
Little Chrysanthemum understood at once. Wasn’t that obviously a compliment?
“That’s normal. He’s probably been watching professional players’ demos every day and learning from them. Didn’t we all start out that way?”
“I just wonder which team this kid will join if he really goes pro someday. If things don’t work out, I’ll switch to Valorant and give him my spot.”
Kaze punched him in the arm when he heard that. “If you really switch to Valorant, I’ll take your surname!”
...
...
“Great work, brothers! Thanks for the hard work!”
Cheers rang out over the team voice chat.

After a fierce battle, Su Zhe and the others finally won the match 13–9.
“Little Zhe, want to duo? I’ll carry you next game!” Little Fish invited Su Zhe.
Su Zhe’s ability to break open sites made the game incredibly comfortable for him. Even when Su Zhe died for nothing, he could still provide crucial information.
Su Zhe politely declined. “No, I’m going to rest. I’ve been playing all day.”
“Alright. Let’s queue together next time you’re free.”
As soon as Su Zhe said this, question marks flooded the livestream chat.
[Come on, man, it’s the weekend! You’ve only streamed for ten hours and you’re already going to rest?]
[Little Zhe has fallen! In a crying voice. Are you streaming again later? I won’t be able to sleep tonight without you.]
[Come on, man, if you’ve been possessed, blink twice and we’ll come rescue you!]
[He should get some rest. The streamer broadcasts for so long every day that my eyes hurt just from watching. Take care of yourself.]
Su Zhe smiled and waved goodbye to his viewers before ending the stream.
He turned to his two dumbfounded roommates and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong with you two?”
Little Light said in astonishment, “Do you know what time it is?”
“Of course. Isn’t it a little after nine at night?”
Fatty and Little Light were even more shocked.
“You’re ending your stream this early today? Do you have something to do?”
Su Zhe: “...”
“Can’t I end early if I don’t have anything to do? I just feel like getting some rest...”
Fatty and Little Light immediately supported Su Zhe and helped him into bed.
“Of course you can! Get some rest! Get plenty of rest!”
The two exchanged a glance, both wearing blissful smiles.
After climbing into bed, Su Zhe immediately summoned the system.
[Congratulations, Host, on completing the mission: Reach number one on any platform.]
