“Report to Your Highness the Princess, there is a secret passage below, but it has been destroyed!”

Chuyang sneered coldly upon hearing this. The Ye family had used a lotus leaf to lure their prey into a trap, and the destruction was thorough. “Dig it up; I want to see what monsters and demons lie beneath the Ye family.”

“Your Highness! Do you still have any regard for the law? I must report this to His Majesty!” Ye Zhangyuan pressed his chest in anger. Throughout history, no one had ever behaved like this!

“Go summon the Regent Prince!”

The current emperor, Chuyin, was only fifteen years old and obediently listened to the Princess. Fortunately, there was still a Regent Prince to keep things in check; no woman could be allowed to break the traditions of past dynasties and hold sole power.

“No need to summon him.”

Suddenly, a man in white appeared before them. His tall figure cast a shadow in the daylight, an androgynous deity with a calm and languid demeanor. His voice was indifferent. “Qingwu, as the Princess, you brought troops into an official residence without cause, and now the matter has reached His Majesty’s ears. This is an unforgivable crime.”

Chuye replied calmly, “I hereby sentence you to house arrest in the Princess’s mansion for three months. Any objections?”

Chuyang glanced at Chuye, seeing no change in expression. The secret passage was searched thoroughly with nothing found. She bowed her head and said, “Qingwu accepts the punishment.”

“Take your troops back to the mansion.” Before leaving, Chuyang shot a cold glance at Ye Zhangyuan, sneered, and strode away.

“This... Your Highness the Regent Prince... The Princess is so arrogant and overbearing! With such precedent, how can the capital remain stable?” Ye Zhangyuan sobbed and complained before Chuye. “The Princess likes to forcibly take common men and bully the sons of officials—that would be bad enough—but now she brings troops to barge in at will. How can we officials still have any standing?”

“I’m not dead yet; I don’t like hearing whining.” Chuye’s white robes flowed like a collapsing jade mountain, yet his tone was chillingly cold. He said lightly, “You are an official; you can appeal to Heaven.”

Chuye was even more arrogant than Chuyang, yet his reputation was good. It was likely because people were deceived by his usual cold, monk-like appearance. As Ye Fusang tried to slip away, the man’s deep and detached voice rang out.

“Take Ye Fusang back. I want to interrogate her properly.”

“Regent Prince.” Bing Yan, who had just been humiliated by Chuyang, now dared to approach with a dignified and fair aura. “This person still has a pulse. It is an ill omen. You should keep your distance.”

Chuye suddenly stopped and glanced sideways. His deep, peach-blossom eyes sparkled icy blue with a chilling depth, causing Bing Yan to lower his head slightly.

“What do you suggest we do, then?”

“Hand her over to my Imperial Observatory.”

“Are you afraid she’s a curse to you, but think I’m afraid? Do you think I’m short-lived?” Chuye lightly traced a white jade bodhi bead between his fingers, his long eyebrows tinged with coldness.

“Pulse? I have fought for three years; do I have less vitality than her?”

Jing Zhi, dressed in a sharp cyan outfit, now understood that her prince was displeased. His face turned stern. “How dare you disrespect the Prince! Seize her and take her to the prison!”

Several guards moved forward. Bing Yan realized he had been tricked by Chuye.

“I am from the Celestial Secrets Pavilion, not your court!”

Bing Yan’s cold eyes were like shards of ice. With a wave of his white sleeves, colorful pendants shimmered like painted rainbows. His sword sliced through the air, and the force of his inner strength sent dust flying. With a single stroke, he knocked away a dozen guards.

Chuye, standing at a distance, felt the biting wind and narrowed his eyes.

This was bad...

Seeing this, Ye Fusang’s phoenix-like eyes darkened. She had once shared two-tenths of her internal power, the Envy of Beauties sword technique, with Bing Yan. If Chuye discovered their shared source of power, her good days would be over.

Truly misplaced trust—everywhere only traps and death.

“You live freely as a wanderer in the martial world, but now you want to mix in the court while remaining unbound? Even I, your grandfather, can’t do that. It’s pure fantasy!” Jing Zhi saw Bing Yan’s strength and leapt forward, her figure a blur.

But Bing Yan’s inner strength was deep; Jing Zhi could not gain the upper hand.

“Let her go.” Watching Bing Yan’s every move, Chuye’s expression softened slightly as he said faintly, “Issue a wanted notice.”

Ye Fusang’s lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. The most cunning one was indeed Chuye. Bing Yan seemed indifferent and cold, but proud by nature. Now, after entering the court, he fled in disorder and was now wanted. He would likely be despondent for a while.

Zhang Ji also silently vanished. It seemed His Majesty’s move was flawed.

Whether entering the court or the martial world, one must abide by the rules to endure.

Those who love the unrestrained life of the martial world yet crave the overwhelming power of the court—the Celestial Secrets Pavilion indeed had a somewhat inflated reputation.

It was unknown what kind of character Master Ning possessed.

Seeing that Chuye had noticed nothing, Ye Fusang finally relaxed. Fortunately, only members of the Celestial Secrets Pavilion knew that Bing Yan’s internal strength was derived from her.

In the past, though she was famed for her fortune-telling and the Envy of Beauties sword, she lived in seclusion and only crossed swords with a few masters of the time. Hence, few recognized her sword technique.

Back then, Chuye was only fifteen, an unknown yellow-haired boy. If she had met him in those days, she would have been completely devoted to him.

Thinking of this, Ye Fusang smiled to herself.

“What are you laughing at?” Chuye raised his brow slightly, his peach-blossom eyes icy and lazy. “At least she can run away. What about you?”

Annoyed by his words, Ye Fusang knew she could not escape from Chuye but wanted to be defiant for once. “I… I…”

She realized she truly couldn’t resist. “I’ll just obediently follow the Prince.”

Chuye’s lips twisted slightly. His white sleeves brushed past, and without looking back, he strode off.

“Take her back.”

Ye Zhangyuan had wanted to discuss Ye Fusang and Ye Nitian, the disgraced daughter. Naturally, he could not let go of the new scapegoat he had found.

But after seeing Bing Yan’s fate, he dared not utter a word. The Princess might be overbearing, but she had to obey the Regent Prince. After all, the military power at the border was in the Regent Prince’s hands.
