Chapter 30: Someone Is Coming
It is too late for regrets now; I must find a way to escape the jaws of the enraged Nether Serpent. Just as everyone was scrambling to survive, one disciple lost his footing on his flying sword, was struck by the serpent’s tail, and was knocked clean off. With a dull thud, he didn’t even have time to scream for help before he was sent flying into the distance. Jiang Biehe immediately turned back to search for him. Chu Shiyue gritted her teeth and cursed under her breath, "Just my rotten luck!"
"Enough, Zhu Qi!" My sister’s voice struck like a thunderbolt. Her eyes were red and swollen as she glared at me, and a tear slid down her cheek. My sister was crying; she shed tears in front of me. This was the first time in seven years I had seen her weep—she hadn't even shed a single tear when our master left.
Old Huang suddenly choked on his words, then stepped forward and pulled me into a fierce embrace. I felt the tough man in my arms begin to tremble slightly, and to my surprise, he started to sob, his emotions clearly running high.
After the lecherous old turtle finished speaking, he kept his head bowed, as if awaiting a reprimand from the giant tortoise. But to our surprise, the giant tortoise did not scold him; instead, it began to walk toward me step by step.
I understood a little bit now. That day, as I lay on the ground, I had vaguely seen someone shouting at the man being trampled by Zhang Lu—his name seemed to be Wang Feng—and he was recording the scene.
Before I knew it, my wounds had completely healed, and my cultivation had grown steadily by a significant margin.
"It’s fine. I knocked them all unconscious," Lian said, waving her arms triumphantly. After the modifications, her cruising speed was something Ise and the others could no longer keep up with. If she put a little extra effort into her movements, the effect would be similar to Luke’s; when moving at full speed, she would leave behind a faint afterimage.
Liu Xin and Feng Qianyue had a falling out previously, and things hadn't smoothed over yet, so Liu Xin didn't offer to visit Feng Qianyue with me. I simply said it was fine, then turned and hurried toward Feng Qianyue’s hospital room with Hao Yingying.
Hao Yingying’s words hit home for Feng Qianyue. They were so close that they had once joked about wanting to marry the same man; was there anything they couldn't talk about? Seeing Feng Qianyue’s expression soften, yet still looking as if she were holding something back, I assumed my presence was the cause, so I made an excuse to leave so they could talk properly.
Shaking his head, Luke piloted the aircraft, carrying the group toward the mountainous regions further north.
For Tang Sheng, there was no cruelty greater than the cycle of hope followed by disappointment. By now, she couldn't remember how many times she had wanted to rush in, grab Tang Lan by the throat, and squeeze the truth out of her.
This was the first time Nangong Changyun had seen such a deep, frozen snowfield. The howling wind caught his clothes, whipping them upward and tugging at him with a mournful, angry roar, its piercing chill biting straight through to his skin.
"Pah! Absolute nonsense. Where would a Kuomintang unit come from in the Hebei-West region? And a whole battalion at that? Company Commander Fang, what makes you so certain?" Yu Genshan said with disdain.
Coming to the Southern Province this time was Yu Feng’s first visit to such a remote place; he usually only traveled around the Henan region. Who would have thought that this trip would see him leave behind so many of his "firsts" in this prosperous land of the South, leaving him feeling quite flustered.
Lin Feng remained unmoved, continuing to shake his head firmly at them in refusal, signaling them to give up that notion as soon as possible.
The sky was dim. Lin’an County Hospital, Building No. 3. Administrative office and dormitory building. The living room of Major Nakahara Toshio’s dormitory.
From the perspective of the young hoodlums, the way Fu Yan was covering Ning Yu’s ears looked as if he were cupping her cheeks and kissing her.
Although Ryuunosuke Uryuu did not particularly enjoy gory or violent films, he could understand the necessity of such forms of entertainment.
"No, if she weren't a flight attendant, she wouldn't have been so worried about whether my complaint would affect her job," Wu Yani said, shaking her head to confirm.
