Let’s have a chat.
I was just working on tomorrow’s chapter, revising and polishing about a thousand words so far, but it’s not finished yet. Tomorrow I have to accompany my daughter for her medical check-up, so I need to go to bed early. I’ll write the rest tomorrow. In the quiet of the night, I thought I’d have a little chat.
This year has been the hardest for Old Li. I failed two books, and the exhaustion has set in, but I never abandoned them. I kept updating them until the end, and the previous book still has a couple of chapters left; I’ll finish those as soon as I find the time.
Perhaps it’s because I haven’t adapted to the new recommendation system at Qidian after the revision. It’s not just me—many veteran authors have been experiencing consecutive setbacks, caught in a vicious cycle.
This industry is harsh. When a book flops, you basically have to start all over again.
Let’s talk about this book. It’s actually the second beginning. The editor said the first idea wasn’t suitable, so I switched to a topic I’m most familiar with. Writing it feels natural, but the style has changed a lot from before, making it harder to write. Sometimes I spend half a day just to produce a thousand or two thousand words. These days, I work late every other day to finish what needs to be posted the next day; otherwise, I can’t guarantee timely updates.
At first, the book’s performance was average, but gradually it improved. When it reached 120,000 words, there were almost 3,000 readers following, which was unbelievable. So, I wanted to strive for better recommendations. Judging from the recent rankings, the follow count hasn’t increased much; you can see it from the new book list.
The book was released on the seventh, so only two or three days remain in the ranking period. That’s why I wanted to chat with you all and push for the rankings. I sincerely ask everyone to follow the latest chapters, and please vote with your monthly and recommendation tickets, so we can climb a bit higher on the list.
As for the official launch, it’ll probably be about another week, since there are still many recommendations pending.
I truly want to do justice to this book. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
This chapter isn’t finished yet, otherwise I’d have posted it tonight. So, the update will be tomorrow around noon, as usual.
In the quiet of the night, I’m here for a chat, asking for your support—follow, recommend, vote, and let’s make one last push for the rankings!
May we draw our swords once again.
Old Li bows in gratitude!
