Chapter 60 (Year Two of the Long Chronicle): The Langdon Ant
In February 2033, in Rocket City of the Bright Nation, Michael Max and Dr. James led their team in developing a spacecraft destined for the edge of the solar system. They named this vessel “VESSEL,” signifying a “great ship.”
Creating a second “business card” for human civilization, following the one from 1977, was not as momentous as restarting Mars, yet it remained a thrilling endeavor. Times had changed—all was now digital.
Lu Shanmin sat quietly in a chair, watching the two men at the center of the stage with a faint gaze. Zhou Tong claimed his martial arts were passed down through his family, saying his ancestor had once been a lay disciple of Shaolin Temple, and so the legacy continued from generation to generation.
The three found a corner by the window and sat down. “Boss, three signature drinks,” one of the men called out to the bar.
Yan Yun City had just settled cross-legged, focusing his mind and calming his breath, when the door was forcefully pushed open from outside. His brows furrowed, but upon seeing who entered, his face instantly softened into a gentle smile.
“All right, all right, friends, I advise you to hurry home. I’m closing up soon. When the storm hits, you won’t be able to leave at all,” the vendor sneered.
Ru Qiu vanished mysteriously. Not only were the spectators stunned, but even the six people on the viewing platform were left gaping in astonishment.
“Brother Liu! Don’t say another word—if you keep going, Brother Ye will truly not acknowledge us as ‘friends’ anymore!” Young Master Cui echoed, and their words thoroughly enraged Ye Xuan, who was already mired in frustration.
For example, the people from Quhua Restaurant and the Dragon Squad—there was no longer any reason to keep them here.
Of course, if I don’t use a bit of strategy to hold you here, what if someone else snatches you away? Wouldn’t that mean I’ll be single for life?
After a while, Lu Shanmin looked away and closed his eyes slightly. “She’s still angry with me, isn’t she?”
The Garden of Wealth was certainly not a place for ordinary folk, but let me ask: how subtle are the ties between people? Haven’t you heard enough stories of fortunes shifting over thirty years, from east to west and back?
Chen Daomai muttered endlessly in Chen Fei’s ear, recounting the rules for entering the city, worried that Chen Fei might get trapped inside again like last time.
Although Li Shimin intended to train the next generation, among the many veteran generals and court officials, Chen Fei was not regarded as an ideal candidate for the future of the martial class.
Unfortunately, as with the previous round, both players spent so much effort guarding against each other’s ambushes and developing their own positions that, when they finally tried to confront the other observer, Yue Ying, they found themselves powerless despite their intentions.
Liu Renshun had already arrived at the scene, and quickly learned that Chu Yue had not been caught.
Dongfang Yuping watched as the Three-Eyed Demon Child seemed to turn into a fool, lost in his silly daydreams. Determined to settle things in a single battle, Dongfang Yuping pondered, then released Yue Ying from the Sky-Swallowing Gourd.
It was the peak season for the Wang family’s boots and cloaks, and naturally, many sought to marry into their family. Matchmakers flocked to the Wang household, but Tieshan refused to consider any of them. Second Master Wang was so anxious he scolded his son, but Tieshan stubbornly held his ground.
The flower hall fell silent for a moment. Everyone rejoiced at the possibility of a breakthrough, yet worried about the difficulty of the task ahead.
Infinite sword energy flowed through the waves of blades. Qin Tian, with a thought, began to channel nine-colored source power, rising like sword light and flickering like flames. In that instant, it began to boil.
“Good sister, please don’t be angry. I was only joking just now, hoping to cheer you up—it’s good for your recovery,” Zhao Zilong said, smiling as he embraced her.
Upon receiving the ball, Alonso didn’t dribble much. Experienced players know to avoid their weaknesses and play to their strengths—that’s the best way for veterans to prolong their careers and maintain a high level of competitiveness.
