A Few Rambling Words Before the Official Release

Stat Evolution from Scratch People take the unconventional path. 668 words 2026-04-13 07:53:18

There won’t be an update tonight. The IV I received during the day has some side effects—nausea and vomiting—and I’m feeling groggy all over, so I’ll be going to bed early this evening. The cough still hasn’t cleared up; this mycoplasma virus is quite tenacious, probably a new, mutated strain that’s more resistant to treatment.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll have to go back to the hospital for another IV session. With the book going live at noon tomorrow, I can already foresee the update quality suffering, since I haven’t managed to stockpile a single chapter this whole week due to being sick (covers face).

All I can do is wait until I recover before treating you all to a burst of updates (bows deeply).

As always, I want to thank our editors, Transparent and Ink, whose ongoing guidance and encouragement have been crucial—without them, this book wouldn’t exist.

But most importantly, it’s your support, dear readers, that keeps me going!

This new book was inspired during my ordeal with kidney stones and the surgery I underwent in Shanghai. We’re still only in the prelude stages, just starting to enter the main plot of “Evolution.” There’s so much more to look forward to.

Honestly, writing a good book is truly challenging. It takes a ton of research and endless brainstorming to find those satisfying moments and cater to everyone’s tastes. For this book alone, I wrote four or five different openings, scrapping at least a hundred thousand words before settling on the final version.

After the disappointment of my last unfinished work, I’ve resolved to learn from my mistakes. This time, I want to write slowly and carefully, so you can all enjoy an exciting, satisfying read. I want to carry out my best ideas from start to finish—fewer clichéd tropes and more fresh, eye-opening moments for you.

PS: What’s the fun in becoming a patriarch just because you’ve got a system panel? (smirks)

Alright, no more rambling—I’m off to bed. You should all get some rest too.

Since we don’t have any panels, let’s follow Chen Jue’s example: adjust our routines, exercise more, work on our health. If we can’t become extraordinary, let’s at least live strong, healthy lives.

Having a fit, healthy body truly brings happiness!

A bit of rambling before “Leveling Up from Zero” goes live. Please bear with me while I finish typing. Refresh the page after the update to see the latest content!
