Volume 1, Chapter 27: The Amorous Succubus
Jiang Chenyu was dragged back to the bridal chamber to begin changing and applying makeup. Those waiting for her, though silent, stared at her with eyes brimming with such resentment that it was impossible to ignore. Not daring to vent their frustrations on Jiang Chenyu herself, they fought among themselves for the "right to use" her. The makeup artist insisted on starting with cosmetics, the hairstylist demanded to begin with the hair, and the wardrobe assistant silently prompted Jiang Chenyu to move her limbs. Only the cameraman stood to the side, anxious and idle, unable to work while the others were busy claiming her. Feeling guilty, Jiang Chenyu dared not provoke these girls, who were practically radiating bitterness; she cooperated fully, letting them have their way with her, and even took the time to offer a few comforting words.
Everyone was shocked. Before they could react, they saw their heroic young master struck by a white shadow, sent flying like a projectile until he was embedded in a rockery, which collapsed upon impact. However, perhaps because Lin Buzheng had already acquired this piece of heavenly spiritual gold, the Demon Refining Sutra in his mind remained incredibly still, showing no sign of disturbance.
Two soldiers responded with a respectful nod before delivering a ruthless chop to the back of the man's neck. A tremendous elastic force erupted, launching the ghost soldier five meters away and snapping a tree as thick as a bowl in half. The host likely understood the subtext of Tao Xingzhi’s words; she smiled, thinking that in an event like this, the more chaotic things were, the better, right? Liu Xiaoxiao’s feelings were complicated; she did not know when she had started to care so much about this guy, Shen Lang.
Suddenly, nine blinding rays of blood-red light flew from the gaping maw of the snake-headed blood jade staff, transforming into nine terrifying, massive serpents. The Jingzhao Prefecture forces remained scattered near the inn according to their prior instructions, and everything appeared to be business as usual.
Shen Lang’s eyes were wide with fury. The golden halo behind his back rotated at high speed, releasing boundless golden light that forcefully withstood the thunder energy and stabilized his stance. It seemed that not only the scene within Hanshan Pavilion but even the very name "Hanshan Pavilion" contained a terrifying, demonic power.
Qiong Ling’s voice was hoarse. "Why? Why? Why must Luo Tian, who barely survived, suffer the pain of a severed arm?" The fire in Qiong Ling’s heart burned to its peak in an instant. His hateful gaze, charged with both solar fire and icy frost, shot toward the nurse, who retreated in terror until she collapsed onto the floor.
"I haven’t offended anyone; surely it’s not just some petty squabble in the business world?" Zhang Cheng asked, sounding confused.
The entire Gate of the Great Thousand became taller and more desolate. A single glance was enough to sense an indescribable, massive power contained within. There were discussions about whether her engagement to Yu Xiubai could truly save the Tian family, as well as talk of... the boyfriend Su Chen had just broken up with.
As men accustomed to commanding armies, they took a liking to the sand table the moment they stepped inside, examining it from every possible angle. Everyone present knew what the old man was talking about. When Liu Zheng of Luzhou, Han Zhenhan of the Brotherhood, and Gao Qiong of the Bai tribe signed the agreement, the Bai tribe—or rather, the signatory Gao Qiong—had not gained anything of substance. Whether in terms of power or resources, they had received nothing tangible.
"I’m really fine, it’s just that my clothes got dirty," Du Ruo murmured, biting her lip. Oh, seeing the Fifth Master made her want to pounce and kiss him; what was she to do?
Mu Zhijun’s face showed no genuine concern; a hint of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips, though it looked somewhat mocking, and one could not tell who he was ridiculing.
From head to tail, they were a meter long, shaped like vicious hounds. Several giant rats, seeing the speeding motorcycle, turned their eyes red and pounced with high-pitched hisses.
Xing Zeyuan hammered his arms outward, breaking free from the white light. As he endured the pain, he clenched his fists, his facial expression twisted in a way that bordered on the absurd. Seeing this, the God of Justice smiled slightly.
Though she could not see him, Sakuragi Kumiko felt that someone was watching her from the shadows. Yet as time passed, this feeling became less distinct. Furthermore, after attempting to cultivate, she grew increasingly attached to the pool, eventually finding it impossible to leave.
In an ordinary tent, High Priest Tadral was conducting a routine intelligence exchange with Expeditionary Commander Tibest via a magic crystal.
Lin Feng played coy: "You’ll find out in a moment. Just wait for me!" With that, Lin Feng went downstairs, ran to a nearby pharmacy to grab some traditional herbs, and then returned with some soil he had dug up from a mound behind the hotel.
Kaldira’s Shadow Veil was not meant to obstruct the perception of the Blind Guard Odu, but to cover the slow-moving "Past Drifts with the Wind." The undead rogue lived up to expectations, successfully taking down a shadow bat.
On the lotus pedestal in the central palace, a faint, ethereal figure shifted. A pair of eyes, ghost-like, flashed with a distant and mysterious light. If there was anything different about this place, it was that the ice mountain in the very center and deepest part was indeed unique.
Stopping before Hong Feng, he was surprised to see the Azure Spirit Fox not spitting poison. He did not hesitate, however; he raised his sword and thrust it into Hong Feng’s throat.
At this very moment, Judge Xun did not know that Young Master Jun—the King of Qinguang among the "Capital Yama Kings"—had arrived in disguise. His two ghost deputies had only just noticed the flaws, leading to the scene that had just unfolded.
"The Nine Heavens are what this Phoenix Source Soul evolved into. It is essentially the same thing," the Ancient Tree explained.
"Lin Feng, I haven’t moved in a long time. Why don’t you let me try?" Cha Feixue said, beginning to warm up.
Facing a dozen curious and expectant gazes, Liu Qingshan really did not dare to refuse, or they would be too disappointed.
"Your Highness, our private room is next door, the Empty Sun private room," Roydor said respectfully as he approached Alice Mishi.
