The next day, Lu Yuxiu and Lin Xi boarded the plane. They sat together, while Zhou Jun and Mia occupied the row behind them.

They had taken off in the morning and were expected to arrive around noon. By now, they had been in the air for some time.

“How is it? Are you cold?” Worried that the cabin might be too chilly, Lu Yuxiu draped a blanket over her.

Lin Xi shook her head, looking as though she wanted to say something.

“Um... Xiu, I want to know about your identity.” After finally finding the courage to ask, she looked at him uncertainly.

“I watched you hold that question in all the way here. You finally asked it?” Her words seemed to come out of nowhere, but Lu Yuxiu was not surprised. With a soft laugh, he raised a hand and smoothed her long hair.

Lin Xi bit her lip and began listing his “crimes.”

“Think about it. You’re extremely agile, which means you must have undergone professional training. You also know the Ghost Doctor, and he seems to follow your orders. Then there’s Zhou Jun. He may be your assistant, but he clearly knows a great deal about computers.”

She spoke with complete seriousness, her reasoning clear and orderly.

Behind them, Zhou Jun fell silent.

When had he been exposed?

Mia had heard Lin Xi’s analysis as well. She abruptly turned around and stared at Zhou Jun. Did he have another identity?

“Hu Zixiao—you met him once on the day you returned to the country—is my manager and the deputy head of L headquarters. Zhou Jun is the number-one hacker in the world. He usually works with me. Zhen Shuai, the Ghost Doctor, is a brother Zhou Jun brought into the organization. There are also some newcomers who recently joined. As for the core personnel at L headquarters, there’s my cousin, Ning Shuyu. She usually disguises her sensitive activities behind her identity as a celebrity.”

Lu Yuxiu explained every detail of the headquarters with perfect clarity. Lin Xi’s small mouth fell open, and she nodded in sudden realization.

“No wonder Sister Shuyu acted so strangely the first time she met me. So she’s one of you after all.”

What surprised and delighted her even more was the fact that he had actually established an entire headquarters solely to find her.

Lin Xi stared blankly ahead.

Lu Yuxiu laughed and lightly tapped her on the forehead.

“And you still have the nerve to say that!”

“So what does your headquarters mainly do now?” Lin Xi asked curiously.

“Work in the underworld,” Lu Yuxiu answered bluntly, without the slightest attempt to hide it.

“Oh?” Lin Xi’s eyes widened. “Isn’t that the same as what my big brother does?”

“What are you looking at? Don’t think I don’t know about you. Aren’t you with Solomon?” he asked with a sidelong grin.

Lin Xi awkwardly touched her nose before arguing, “I may be with Solomon, but I’ve only gone on a few missions. They were all simple things, like long-distance sniping. My brother only gave me an easy, nominal position.”

“Mm. That’s for the best.” Lu Yuxiu leaned over and lovingly kissed her forehead.

“Have you ever fought my big brother?” Lin Xi’s eyes lit up.

“Not yet,” Lu Yuxiu replied.

A sly look flickered through Lin Xi’s eyes. She wondered whether her big brother was more formidable, or whether Xiu was.

Lu Yuxiu saw straight through her thoughts and cut them off at once.

“That won’t happen in the future either. He’s my brother-in-law, after all. I can’t afford to offend him.”

“Tch—coward!” Lin Xi curled her lips, making it clear that she looked down on him.

Lu Yuxiu did not care in the least. He did not want anything to interfere with their relationship ever again.

Lin Xi turned around and struck up a conversation with Zhou Jun.

“Brother Jun, you’ve really been hiding your talents. If you get the chance, you should spar with Casey from our Solomon sometime. She may be self-taught, but she’s incredibly good.”

Zhou Jun’s scalp prickled. With a smile that never reached his eyes, he said, “Miss Xi, thank you. I’ve already had the pleasure.”

“Really? When?”

Zhou Jun smiled painfully and revealed his dark history.

“When I was looking into your background, my computer suddenly went black. Then a ghostly face stuck out its tongue at me. The signature read—Casey.”

“Hahahaha!” Lin Xi laughed so hard that she completely lost her composure. “Yes, yes, that’s exactly the sort of thing she would do!”

Mia, sitting nearby, could no longer suppress the corners of her mouth from rising.

Long live Casey!

Zhou Jun felt deeply wounded.

The group arrived in Country Y just before noon, landing at the L headquarters.

The moment they stepped off the plane, they were stunned by the large, impeccably ordered crowd standing before them.

Led by Zhen Shuai, everyone shouted, “Welcome home, Boss and Sister-in-Law!”

Lin Xi stood rooted to the spot, utterly stunned. What kind of overbearing-president novel was this? Clearly, Zhen Shuai had not wasted his time reading those books.

Zhou Jun stood to the side with a headache, rubbing his forehead, while Lu Yuxiu remained completely calm, as though he had long since grown accustomed to this.

Lin Xi awkwardly tugged at the corners of her lips. Had she really once thought he had the air of a refined scholar?

“Uh... long time no see.” Why had his hair turned red? She forced a smile.

Zhen Shuai did not notice her discomfort at all. He led her before the crowd.

“Sister-in-law, come on over. Everyone has been dying to know what kind of woman could make our Boss lose his appetite by day and lie awake at night!”

“She really is as beautiful as a celestial being! Hello, Sister-in-law. I’m Little K, the explosives expert.” The speaker was a boy who looked no more than seventeen or eighteen, and he seemed far more normal than Zhen Shuai.

“Boss has finally gotten his wish! Hello, Sister-in-law. My name is Ling Jia. I’m a sniper.”

And so on.

One after another, the members introduced themselves. They all knew that if the Boss had brought his wife to headquarters, then she was now one of them. There was no need to keep anything from her.

Nearby, Lu Yuxiu watched as his precious girl was surrounded by people three layers deep. He genuinely regretted coming back to headquarters.

He should never have brought her here.
