Chapter 91: Gu Yao and Wen Jin’s Romance Is Exposed
As dusk deepened outside, the two of them sat entwined on the sofa for a long while. When Lu Yuxiu saw that it was getting late, he rose to return to his work.
Just as he reached out to lift Lin Xi into his arms and set her down on the sofa, she refused, clinging tightly to his neck and not letting go. In a soft, coaxing murmur, she pleaded, "I don't want to go down."
"Are you sure, sweetheart?" His voice suddenly dropped, low and rich with a dangerous allure.
Lin Xi sensed at once that something was not quite right. She hastily tried to slip from his lap, but he would not allow it. With a swift motion, he pulled her back into his embrace, locking her waist firmly from behind, then rested his chin casually on her shoulder. His eyes were red, and his voice was husky as he said, "Then let's hold each other a little longer."
He reached out and turned her face toward him, pressing a devout kiss to her forehead. Then he looked at her intently, his dark eyes brimming with tenderness and resolve. That steady, gentle certainty softened the sharp lines of his profile, lending even his usually cool and distant face a veil of warmth.
Lin Xi felt the depth of his love in every part of him, and she was overwhelmed with contentment. She smiled, her expression shy and luminous, coyness touching the corners of her eyes and brows. Her gaze turned soft and seductive, full of charm and allure, once more becoming that untouchable little princess.
Lu Yuxiu was dazzled by that smile. His eyes fixed on her cherry-red lips, deepening with desire. He lifted his distinct, long-fingered hand and stroked those glossy lips as though they were made of jelly, his movements gentle and solemn.
Lin Xi froze. Her slender brows, arched like willow leaves, shot high. She had not expected him to... One of her hands hanging at her side slowly curled into a fist.
Her arms braced against his chest. Just as she was about to push him away, he suddenly lifted her chin and kissed her. He took her vivid, dewy red lips, kissing her patiently and meticulously. Lin Xi could hear a pounding heartbeat somewhere, she could not tell whose, hammering so fiercely it seemed ready to burst from the chest.
The tension that had first clenched her slowly melted under his silent tenderness, and before she knew it, she was sinking into it.
Lin Xi looped her arms around his neck in return and responded actively. The two of them clung to each other, so close it was impossible to part them, as if no amount of kissing could ever be enough. Her lips were sore from his sucking, and her cheeks burned like tiny suns, hot enough to frighten.
His arm tightened around her waist, and the kiss on her lips grew wilder by the moment, deeper and more fervent, until all she could taste was his masculine scent.
Lin Xi could scarcely breathe. Lu Yuxiu, too, was growing light-headed, his blood surging hot as though a fire ran through it, eager to break through his veins. Unconsciously, he slid his hand up beneath her top, the movement urgent and rough, leaving wave after wave of scorching heat in its wake. Frightened, Lin Xi hurriedly pressed her hand over his restless palm.
Gasping, she turned her face away, her eyes shining, and called shyly, "Xiu..."
The sound seemed to rouse Lu Yuxiu at once. He abruptly stopped every movement, obediently drew his hand back, and looked at her with a trace of remorse. In a voice raw and taut, he pitifully said, "Sweetheart, I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself."
Lin Xi was amused by his earnest expression. She cupped his burning face in both hands and kissed him hard once.
From remorse, Lu Yuxiu moved to astonishment; then, coming to himself, adoring amusement surfaced in his eyes, happiness unmistakable even at his brows. His darling had not blamed him at all. The two of them embraced again, close and inseparable, and Lin Xi listened with peace to the steady, powerful beat of his heart.
"Sweetheart, I love you." His voice was tender, tinged with a sugary sweetness, low and mellow with a magnetic warmth that slipped into Lin Xi's ears and tugged at her heart.

Life is always full of small surprises, and sudden twists can strike like a blow to the head. The future is impossible to predict; one can only cherish what is at hand and prepare in advance.
The next day, a rumor somehow exploded online that Gu Yao and Wen Jin were dating, and in an instant Wen Jin became the target of every accusation.
The news came too abruptly; no one had been prepared for it, caught utterly off guard. The entire internet erupted, and Gu Yao's fans and music lovers reacted even more fiercely, insisting it was impossible, refusing to believe it, and resolutely opposing the revelation.
But then a major celebrity gossip blogger on social media released hard evidence in the form of photos and videos. In the footage, Gu Yao and Wen Jin were unmistakably intimate, and Gu Yao even took the initiative to kiss Wen Jin. At that point, even the fans had a hard time lying to themselves. One after another, they lined up beneath Wen Jin's social media account to attack and insult her, firmly opposing the relationship.
@Gu Yao's Little Darling: You are not worthy of my Yao, and he would never be with some unknown actress. Happy breakup, wishing you happiness! If you can even get married, I'll lose!
@Facing the Sun at Dusk: I want to know what happened. I'm completely stunned. This is a total blow.
@Little Bully: I unfollowed. I can't take it anymore. After guarding him for so many years, I got crushed in one fell swoop{smile} fan turning to anti-fan!
@A Rare Chance: Do you people really like Gu Yao? He is going to get married sooner or later. If you truly like him, you should bless him! These brainless fans are terrifying. Can't you stand seeing anyone else?
That day, Wen Jin had just finished work and returned to Dragon City. As the plane was about to land, she saw the overwhelming flood of messages on social media. Her mind exploded at once; her face went deathly pale, stiff as if coated in paste...
She truly did not know what to do now. Her grandmother had once said that when two people in love are together, they would grow together. But she had not. Since childhood, she had been ordinary, with no special talents, not good enough, too timid. When all was said and done, aside from acting and earning a little money, it seemed she had nothing worth liking.
And now... would Gu Yao really be happy with her? Would they have an ending? He was such a dazzling person, destined to live beneath the spotlight. Were they never meant to belong to the same world?
Wen Jin's heart was being shattered bit by bit. She truly had no confidence at all standing before his fans and the public...
After Wen Jin got off the plane, Xiao Ruo deliberately took her through the VIP passage, but she was still surrounded by frenzied fans of every kind. Some held signs to voice their protest; others shouted directly, "You are not worthy of my Yao!" "Wen Jin, get out of the entertainment industry!" "Stay away from Gu Yao!"
Each word was like a thorn piercing Wen Jin's heart.
Reporters, media, and the cameras of those crazed fans all seemed determined to shove themselves into Wen Jin's face. Xiao Ruo and another assistant shielded her as the three of them struggled through the crowd.
Wen Jin was terrified in her heart. She feared the lenses of the media, feared the attacks from fans, and feared even more that something dangerous might happen at the scene because of her...
She stood rooted in place. The voices of the whole world opposing her seemed to whirl past before her eyes. After a moment of hesitation, as though making a tremendous resolution, she spoke.
"All right!"
Where that strength came from, Wen Jin did not know. She shut her eyes and shouted with all her might. The noisy scene instantly fell silent, as if everyone were eagerly waiting for her to say something that would conform to their wishes.
And Wen Jin naturally gave them what they wanted. Calm to the point of seeming like a stranger, she bowed deeply toward the cameras.
"I agree to your demand." Her face carried an indescribable weariness, and she tugged faintly at her lips before speaking. "I am more afraid than you are. Afraid I will ruin him."
"From now on, I officially break up with Gu Yao. He is still yours. I'm sorry."
With that, Wen Jin seemed to spare no lingering glance. She turned and left with complete composure.
A storm of screams rose behind her, along with the shouts of fans and the voices of security trying to restrain them.
Wen Jin only felt her heart lurch violently. She could no longer hear anything clearly. She could only move forward mechanically, forcing her legs to carry her away from there as fast as possible. Her fingers dug into her flesh until they were numb.
In her heart, she told herself: Wen Jin, just pretend it was a dream in daylight. It's time to wake up. Don't be sad. The dream was beautiful, and that should be enough.
Her hair in disarray, Wen Jin fought back tears and buried her face in her collar. She clamped both hands over her mouth, doing everything she could not to make a sound, while inside she had already fallen into outright despair.
Only now did she understand He Wen's feelings. So they had both been merely passersby in his life.
Xiao Ruo escorted her into the car.
"Wen Jin..." Xiao Ruo looked at her state with deep concern.
"Xiao Ruo, I don't want to see anyone these next few days. Let me be alone for a while." After saying this, Wen Jin had no strength left. Tears slid silently down her cheeks and onto her neck as she curled up in the back seat.
Only now did she realize that the heart could ache so suddenly that one could not breathe, and every breath would hurt.
Xiao Ruo had no choice but to nod quietly.
Once this incident broke, it spread rapidly across every major platform.
When Gu Yao heard about it, he was still lying in his studio writing a new song. He had already decided that he would use it as background music when he proposed to Xiao Jin.
With a loud bang, Mo Yan rushed in through the door in a panic, and Gu Yao looked up at him in surprise.
"What is it this time, kid? Calm down. The sky isn't going to fall." Gu Yao lazily raised both hands, stretched, then rested one hand at his neck and idly kept time by moving his head, eyes half-closed in utter enjoyment.
From the way he looked, Mo Yan could tell he had no idea what had happened today. Anxiety beat hard in his chest, and he no longer knew how to tell him.
"Yao... Brother Yao." His voice was trembling as he stammered, "Uh, have you... have you been online today?"
"No. I've been thinking about the song the whole time. What's wrong with you? Having trouble speaking?" Gu Yao leaned back in his chair, relaxed and comfortable.
"No..." Mo Ke opened his mouth with difficulty.
"What happened online? Did Xiao Xi hit the trending list again?" After saying that, Gu Yao waved a hand dismissively and said lazily, "It's fine. My brother will handle it. Besides, with Xiao Xi's temper, she's always the one being bullied. When has she ever been the one to get bullied?"
Mo Yan shook his head in alarm and said decisively, "Brother Yao, it's not the young lady. It's Miss Wen! She was blocked at the airport by your fanatics, and they demanded that she break up with you. Miss Wen Jin announced on the spot that she was breaking up with you... she said she was afraid she'd ruin you..."
By the end, his voice had vanished completely. He did not dare bear the wrath of an erupting volcano.
"What did you say!"
Sure enough, when Gu Yao heard this, he sprang up from his chair at once. A storm swirled in his deep eyes as he shot a piercing, appraising glance at Mo Yan. "Mo Yan, today is not April Fool's Day!"
His tone was full of cold, merciless hostility.
Mo Yan trembled all over. "Brother Yao, I wouldn't dare joke. That video has already been pushed to the top of the trending list..." Afraid of being dragged in further, he quickly held out his phone.
Wen Jin's helpless expression, her sorrowful words, entered Gu Yao's eyes and ears one syllable at a time.
Gu Yao's eyes turned crimson as he stared, hating nothing more than himself. He cursed viciously, grabbed his car keys, and stormed out.
