Chapter 14: Well Then, Here Comes Another One!
So, encountering both Obadiah and Abomination at the same time—two of Marvel’s early major villains—was already quite the experience!
“Congratulations, host, you have successfully signed in and obtained a weakened version of the Super God Gene from the Super God Academy universe!”
As Abomination and Obadiah battled fiercely, Hao Yun had no intention of intervening. Doing his best to minimize his presence, he slipped into a corner and quietly accessed the new item.
“Weakened Super God Gene: The strongest gene from Super God Academy. If fully developed, it can reach Third Generation Divine Body, granting indestructibility and anti-void abilities!”
“System, may I ask how much energy is required to fully develop it?”
Hao Yun did not lose his composure at the system’s description. What a joke—Ge Xiaolun’s Super God Gene was said to be the power of the Milky Way itself, and the Third Generation Divine Body at its apex could protect the entire galaxy. But what had he received? The weakened version!
If unlocking its full potential was that easy, would it still be called “weakened”? Besides, was the battleground between Abomination and Hulk really that iconic? Perhaps only a place as significant as where Thanos snapped away half the universe would yield the true Super God Gene.
“About the energy of an Infinity Stone.”
As expected, the energy required matched that of a stone...
“What about side effects after injection?”
“You already possess the T-virus serum. Injecting the Super God Gene may cause genetic conflict. It is recommended to reserve it for your girlfriend.”
“Oh, understood.”
Hao Yun closed the panel with a blank expression... These days, you have no rights without a girlfriend, and even the system has learned to mock.
Damn it, if it’s useless to me, why did you give it to me? Just to force me to get a girlfriend? Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t need your reminders, system!
“Test, test, Hao Yun, where are you? I’ve arrived!”
In the distance, a burst of fire streaked into the battlefield. Shielding his eyes from the setting sun, Hao Yun saw the red-and-gold armor—no need to guess, it was that arrogant Tony!
“Tony! You’re finally here!”
Obadiah laughed heartily, eager to rush forward and punch Tony. But before he could, the Mark IV armor in a flash of red and gold was sent flying by a pair of massive palms!
“Out of the way, weakling! Baldy, let’s continue!”
Abomination swatted Tony aside, sending him crashing into a wall... That was the flaw of armor developed in the early Stark Industries era—the details hadn’t been perfected. Having never fought a giant creature before, Tony’s shock absorption system was nowhere near as advanced as later models. The impact left him dazed on the spot.
Yes, Tony arrived on the battlefield, and within a second, had lost all combat ability...
Hao Yun couldn’t help but laugh from afar. Serves you right for spending all your time cuddling with Pepper—now look at you! Better get this moment on camera; blackmail material like this is worth a fortune!
“Out of the way! You’re not my enemy! Monster, get lost!”
Completely entangled, Obadiah flew into a rage and unleashed his ultimate weapon! The Vulcan cannon on his back spun up, bullets chambered, and the missile ports on his waist opened, all aimed at Abomination.
But Abomination was no newly rational Hulk—he possessed the fully merged wickedness and memory of his former self, a battle-hardened soldier!
With a roar, Abomination leaped, seizing the moment before Obadiah could fire. His massive hand gripped the cannon’s barrel and tore it clean off! The missile port was then flattened with a double-handed slam!
Obadiah hurriedly shut down the weapon system. With the launch port crushed, firing now would only result in an internal explosion, no matter how thick the armor.
“Damn it! Do you know who I am? How dare you—”
Obadiah roared in fury, but his advanced armor, which he considered state-of-the-art, was nothing more than a toy for Hulk’s arrival in Abomination’s eyes. Without waiting for him to reveal his name, Abomination dragged him close and pounded the suit relentlessly...
Armor thicker than a tank was hammered into a lump of metal, with blood oozing from the seams. Clearly, Obadiah—the main villain of the first Iron Man—met his end at the hands of Abomination.
“You’re too weak! Hulk, I’ll wait for you here!”
Losing interest in further torment, Abomination tossed the armor aside and roared at the sky. Hao Yun silently said a prayer for Obadiah. If only you’d attacked Tony Stark directly—at least you’d have had a fair fight.
Now look at you—facing one of the most dangerous villains in MCU history, you were completely outmatched.
Watching the carnage, Hao Yun opened his backpack and quietly used microbots to drag Stark to his side... Hmm, Hulk should be showing up soon, best not to let Stark get killed by some stray attack.
Looking at the huge dent in the Mark IV armor, Hao Yun sighed, “You really need an upgrade.”
“Hulk!”
Just as Abomination grew impatient and prepared to rampage through Los Angeles, a green giant suddenly leaped down from the sky, roaring as he delivered a punch to Abomination!
Abomination responded instantly with a punch of his own—BOOM!
Fist met fist, and the shock was bone-shattering. The impact was so powerful that even the air seemed to rupture, shattering windows all around!
Despite being three hundred meters from the epicenter, Hao Yun and Tony were still sent tumbling by the shockwave, coming to a stop over a hundred meters away!
And with just a single breath, the fists that had collided were already fully healed, showing no sign of injury.
“Monsters!” Hao Yun couldn’t help but mutter. He was certain that if he assembled a giant robot out of his microbots, the two of them would tear it apart with ease.
This was no longer a matter of technology—this was brute power, pure and simple! He couldn’t help but wonder how, with Hulk in this state, Thanos managed to break his spirit in Infinity War.
Maybe Hulk had just gotten too used to the easy fights in Sakaar with the Grandmaster?
As the two monsters clashed, blood and sweat flying, Hao Yun loyally guarded Tony, with no intention of joining the fray. These monsters were the military’s problem—whoever unleashed them should be the one to clean up the mess. Besides, he hadn’t forgotten how, after Age of Ultron, Ross became a real thorn in the Avengers’ side. The outcome was clear: Hulk would win. Why get involved and complicate things?
After nearly ten minutes, Tony Stark finally regained consciousness.
The moment he opened his eyes, he found himself cradled in Hao Yun’s arms.
“Hey, you could’ve let Pepper hold me, you know. I’m straight—not really used to being held by a man.”
“Oh? You really want your aunt to come here?”
Hao Yun pointed to the nearby brawl and the devastation strewn all around. Tony Stark fell silent.
