Chapter Two: Teaching Sasuke!
The following night, Hao Yun recounted to Sasuke all the grudges and feuds of the Otsutsuki clan, the secret manipulations behind the scenes, the Nine-Tails incident, and every fact that had already transpired.
Sitting cross-legged on the tatami, Sasuke’s face shifted between green and pale—he was hearing so many hidden truths about the shinobi world for the first time, and it was even more shocking to learn that his own ancestor was still alive! Not only was he alive, but instead of quietly hiding away in some cave, he had to come out and bring disaster to the Uchiha. Wasn’t he of the same blood? Wasn’t the entire clan descended from him?
He had insisted on controlling Obito to wipe out the Uchiha clan—was he satisfied now? The entire clan was gone, leaving only Sasuke himself, the last hope for carrying on the family line… If something were to happen to him, and with his brother Itachi gravely ill, wouldn’t the Uchiha be wiped from existence altogether?
“Is everything you said true?”
Sasuke’s eyes turned blood-red, the three tomoe in his pupils spinning madly! Unknowingly, upon hearing that his brother Itachi had been threatened by Danzo, and that Obito had pulled strings behind the scenes, forcing Itachi to slaughter the clan and become a traitor to protect Sasuke, a surge of emotion broke through the limits of his bloodline. The Sharingan instantly evolved to the three-tomoe stage!
No, from Hao Yun’s perspective, a bit more stimulation, and Sasuke might awaken the Mangekyo at any moment!
But letting Sasuke trigger the Mangekyo like this was not Hao Yun’s intention. From what he’d read on forums in his previous life, the evolution of the Mangekyo required intense emotional trauma… But after careful consideration, the true condition for the Sharingan’s evolution should be the fusion of Yin Release chakra and natural energy to form Sage chakra.
Otherwise, how did Hamura Otsutsuki possess the Rinnegan even though he didn’t lose his parents?
Therefore, to make Sasuke his greatest ally in the future, Hao Yun absolutely couldn’t allow him to awaken a flawed Mangekyo so easily!
“Of course it’s true, kid. Calm down. If you get any more worked up, you’ll activate your Mangekyo right now.”
Hao Yun reached out, and a bolt of lightning struck Sasuke. Since arriving in the world of Naruto, he had already decided to recruit both Sasuke and Naruto, the children of destiny, to his side.
Naturally, he would try his best to prevent them from gaining any defects. In Hao Yun’s eyes, the Mangekyo was a flawed existence!
“I… I…”
Sasuke was trembling from the shock, trying to speak, but Hao Yun silenced him with a slap to the stomach.
“I know you want revenge on Danzo, but don’t forget who your real enemy is! Besides, that old man Danzo has Kage-level strength. You’re just a lowly genin—are you looking to throw your life away?”
Sure, genin from Konoha could be outrageously powerful, but not at this age, right?
“Get some rest. Don’t even think about evolving your eyes any further. When you wake up tomorrow, I’ll teach you a safer and faster way to become strong!”
With that, Hao Yun raised the voltage… Sasuke felt a wave of agony before losing consciousness altogether. Hao Yun yawned, released his nanobots to move Sasuke onto the bed, and casually picked a room for himself, sleeping soundly until the sun was high in the sky.
……
The next morning, Hao Yun was still deep in sleep when a cold, indifferent voice jolted him awake.
“Get up!”
“Mmm…”
He opened his eyes and stretched lazily… He had to admit, while the shinobi world wasn’t as convenient as the age of technology, the air and sunlight here were truly comfortable.
So comfortable that he almost forgot he was in the shinobi world, letting his guard down completely.
“I walked right in and you didn’t even notice. Sleeping so deeply—are you sure you’re a ninja?” Sasuke taunted, entering the room with a basin of water for washing up, staring at him.
“Hmph.”
The corner of Hao Yun's mouth twitched. So the nickname wasn’t wrong after all. The sky’s cleared, the rain has stopped, and our dear “second pillar” is acting self-important again. If I don’t beat you so hard today that even your mother can’t recognize you, you won’t know who’s boss!
“Breakfast?”
After quickly washing up, Hao Yun went to the courtyard to stretch a bit, then turned and asked.
“Uh… Someone will bring it in about an hour. Didn’t you say you’d teach me how to get stronger?” Sasuke replied absently, but his gaze burned with anticipation. Power—he craved it now more than ever!
Especially after learning that Danzo was Kage-level and possessed the Uchiha’s supreme Sharingan, his desire grew even stronger.
“Don’t rush. Let me see how strong you are first, then I’ll decide how to teach you.”
Hao Yun flashed a wolfish grin, lightning crackling around his body as he lunged forward…
There was little need to describe what happened next. Sasuke, a mere genin fresh out of the academy, knew only the basic clone, substitution, and transformation techniques and his Fireball Jutsu that never seemed to hit anyone. What harm could he possibly do to Hao Yun, who had fought off alien invaders?
With just intermediate-level Observation Haki, Hao Yun sent Sasuke flying dozens of times within three minutes. Bruised and battered, Sasuke lay on the ground, doubting his very existence.
He began to wonder what he had been learning all these years, if Hao Yun’s strength was any measure! No wonder he said Sasuke couldn’t beat Danzo—never mind the head of Root, he probably couldn’t even take on a single underling!
“Alright, I’ll give you two choices.”
With his hands behind his back, Hao Yun looked down at the defeated Sasuke and said,
“One: train in taijutsu. Have you heard of Might Guy’s ultimate Eight Inner Gates technique? Mastering all eight gates, especially the final Death Gate, could grant you the power to take on Kaguya Otsutsuki herself.
Of course, opening the eighth gate means certain death, but I have a way to strengthen your body so you can survive and wield power equal to the entire shinobi world.”
As he spoke, Hao Yun glanced at his system points… He’d been lucky these past few days, barely reaching 541 points. The shop had just refreshed to the One Piece world, and the entry-level Armament Haki was only 500 points—a great bargain.
Sasuke remained unmoved on the ground. The whole village knew about Might Guy and Lee’s training! It wasn’t that he feared hard work, but that it took too long—he was desperate for immediate power!
“Is there another way?”
“The second is to enhance your own bloodline.”
Hao Yun squatted down next to Sasuke and said, “Yesterday I told you about the origin of the Uchiha. You inherited the Sage’s eyes, but to truly unleash their power and rapidly advance without side effects, you need to acquire a Sage’s body!
I have a way to transform your body into a Sage’s, aligned with Yang Release; your Sharingan is already aligned with Yin Release. If you combine Yin and Yang, you might even awaken the Rinnegan. At the very least, you’ll get an Eternal Mangekyo, like Obito.”
Just think—Obito, with only a half-baked body repair, could use Kamui without side effects. Hao Yun, backed by the entire world of advanced technology and with the help of his scientific knowledge and Skybreaker Nanobots, could help Sasuke merge with the Sage’s body without any drawbacks. It really wasn’t that difficult at all.
