Chapter 137: Yaoluo of the Abyss of Wuji

Aurora seemed to be growing impatient with You Xiyue’s poking. It shook its round, pudgy body and wriggled forward twice.
You Xiyue stopped, propped her chin in her hand, and looked up at Yaoluo. “Me? Even if I told you, you wouldn’t know them.”
“How do you know my name?” Yaoluo tightened his grip on his weapon and cautiously studied You Xiyue. Even while he was raging, the little girl remained completely calm. She had not been affected in the slightest by his spiritual pressure, and he could not discern her cultivation level either. The realization sent a chill through him.
“I heard it. They say the Third Elder of the Wuji Abyss is the ugliest of them all and never dares show his true face, masking it with spiritual energy year-round.”
As she spoke, You Xiyue nodded with complete conviction. “He really is rather ugly.”
Those with lower cultivation might not be able to see clearly, but You Xiyue could.
“Bullshit! I’m not the ugliest person in the Wuji Abyss!” Yaoluo snarled through clenched teeth. “Which miserable wretch spread such a rumor? I’ll skin him alive!”
“Really?” The corners of You Xiyue’s eyes curved as she smiled slyly. “You really dare skin him alive?”
At her question, Yaoluo suddenly felt less certain. Even his voice dropped several degrees. “Who… who said that?”
“If I remember correctly, that fellow’s name is Wulan now. You must have heard of him, right?”
“!”
Yaoluo clearly refused to believe her. “Nonsense! How could our Abyss Master possibly say such a thing? Besides… even if he really did, how could a little girl like you possibly know him?”
“An old man?” You Xiyue raised her brows in puzzlement. “How old are you, exactly?”
Yaoluo was about to answer when he realized something was wrong. Why should he answer every question from some little girl?
“Stop wasting my time. Are you giving me the Ice Nether or not?”
You Xiyue looked innocent. “Didn’t I give it to you just now? You were the one who couldn’t take it, weren’t you?”
By then, Yaoluo’s severed arm had fully regrown. He clenched his fist, feeling return to it, then looked toward Aurora.
After shooting You Xiyue a cold glance, he summoned an ice-dragon whip. Its frost-covered thorns lashed toward Aurora at incredible speed.
Before it could touch Aurora, however, a sword suddenly flew out and knocked the ice-dragon whip away, sending it crashing into a distant wall.
You Xiyue’s expression darkened, and her voice turned faintly angry. “My house is very expensive. Pay for the damage.”
“You!”
Yaoluo’s face instantly changed color with fury. His chest felt as though something were lodged inside it, and he said in a low voice, “What is the meaning of this? You tell me to take it myself, then stop me with a weapon?”
The frost on the ground had begun to harden into thick ice. Dark clouds covered the sky, and snowflakes began to drift down.
The entire Immortal Realm looked as though it had transformed into a frozen domain, so strange and chilling that it made one shudder.
Those in the streets with weaker cultivation and bloodlines began to tremble.
Yan Qingye was crouched where he stood, rubbing his arms repeatedly as he gazed toward the residence in the Immortal Realm. Even his eyelashes had become dusted with white frost.
Yun Jianxin’s Sacred Realm bloodline was somewhat stronger than Yan Qingye’s. He ran outside, found Yan Qingye, and pulled him to his feet.
“Are you an idiot? Are you planning to crouch here until you freeze to death? Come back with me!”
“I’m not going back. I’m staying here to wait for news.” Yan Qingye remained stubborn.

Unable to persuade him, Yun Jianxin summoned an alchemy cauldron on the spot and struggled to control the flames, trying to keep them warm.
The slightest breeze would extinguish the fire inside the cauldron.
Yun Jianxin would simply light it again, repeating the process over and over.
Yan Qingye gripped his arm tightly, vexed with himself. If only he had tried harder…
Lan Shi had already quietly reached the entrance to You Xiyue’s residence.
But no matter how lightly she moved, she could not escape the keen spiritual senses of the two people inside.
You Xiyue no longer joked. Her expression grew serious.
“I was willing to give it to you before because I was in a good mood. But I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to give it to you anymore.”
“You’re playing me?”
“You simply weren’t capable enough.”
You Xiyue flashed forward and appeared before Yaoluo. She raised her right palm and gave him a light push, sending him flying.
Another section of the courtyard wall collapsed beneath him.
Hearing the noise, Lan Shi tried to slip inside, only to discover that she could not enter.
The entire residence was surrounded by a powerful protective formation. Outsiders were simply unable to enter.
Not even someone of her cultivation could break through.
Lan Shi could already see the collapsed wall—and even Yaoluo, his blurred features fixed upon her like a venomous snake.
She instinctively wanted to run.
The moment she turned around, she felt Yaoluo arrive behind her.
But before his hand could touch her, the protective formation struck him away once more.
“!”
Yaoluo sat up amid a heap of rubble and finally noticed the protective formation encircling the entire residence.
It was so powerful that even he could not take a single step beyond the courtyard.
You Xiyue walked toward him.
Yaoluo could not help retreating several steps until there was nowhere left to go.
“What are you, exactly?”
For him to become the Third Elder of the Wuji Abyss, his bloodline and cultivation were naturally extraordinary.
Yet the situation before him was beyond anything he could have imagined.
Even their Abyss Master did not seem to possess such a terrifying aura.

You Xiyue took two more steps, then stopped and frowned with distaste.
“As expected, you really are too ugly.”
“You!”
Yaoluo was so furious that he tried to stand, but a single glance from You Xiyue frightened him into collapsing back down.
The Moonlit Sword shot forward the instant he fell, its tip aimed directly at his throat.
Its terrifying aura seemed ready to kill him at any moment.
Cold sweat covered Yaoluo’s body.
“Go back and tell Wulan that if he wants the Ice Nether, he can come and take it himself. Though I probably won’t give it to him anyway. Understood?”
You Xiyue looked at Yaoluo and spoke in a cold voice.
Yaoluo was somewhat slow to respond. His mind was still occupied with wondering who You Xiyue really was, and he failed to answer at once.
The Moonlit Sword thrust forward.
Blood trickled from Yaoluo’s throat along the blade.
The pain brought him back to his senses. “I… I understand.”
He had not felt the presence of death in many years. The last time had been when he provoked the Abyss Master.
“Good.”
You Xiyue nodded, and the Moonlit Sword withdrew by an inch.
Yaoluo hurriedly rose to his feet. He glanced hesitantly at You Xiyue, then turned to look at the space behind him.
He tentatively took one step backward.
The protective formation seemed to have been lifted. Without looking back, he vanished.
The frost across the Immortal Realm soon dispersed, and the wind and snow stopped as well.
Lan Shi ran inside and looked at You Xiyue, who was completely unharmed.
“You… and he…”
“I’m fine.”
You Xiyue turned and walked toward the stone bench in the pavilion. After sitting down, she frowned once more.
“What is it?” Lan Shi asked with concern when she saw the change in You Xiyue’s expression.
You Xiyue pursed her lips unhappily. “The courtyard wall is broken. I forgot to make him pay for it.”
“Whew…”
Lan Shi let out a breath of relief and gave You Xiyue an exasperated look.
“I thought something serious had happened to make you look so grim. You nearly scared me to death. That man certainly didn’t look easy to deal with. I was afraid something had happened to you, so I rushed over as soon as I could.”
You Xiyue smiled kindly. “Thanks.”
