"All right, let's head down and get something to eat."

After flying for quite some time, Ye Wuya spoke and began his descent.

This place was desolate and uninhabited, filled with mountain ranges and towering giant trees. A rich, earthy scent of vegetation washed over them.

"If these were on Earth, they would be prehistoric forests, but in this world, they are nothing more than a small grove." The stark contrast made Ye Wuya sigh. He wondered if he would ever be able to return to Earth in this lifetime.

Jiang Xiaoxiao landed beside Ye Wuya, positioning herself slightly behind him.

"Roar!" As soon as they touched the ground, an angry beastly roar erupted from the forest. A wild boar with a green face and fangs, three or four meters long, emerged. Its body was covered in layers of scales that looked like fish scales, emitting a chilling, eerie glow.

It was currently roaring incessantly at these two humans who had intruded upon its territory.

Ye Wuya watched the boar, which radiated the aura of the Form-Gathering Realm, completely unmoved.

What a joke. With such a powerful bodyguard in front of him, would he really need to do the work himself?

"Senior, please leave this Green-Scaled Boar to me!"

Jiang Xiaoxiao said, as if seeking credit. She hopped off her coffin lid, grabbed a corner of it with her fair, delicate hand, and dragged the seemingly ten-thousand-pound lid with astonishing ease. She looked toward Ye Wuya for approval.

"Mm, make it quick. I haven't had meat in a long time; I need to fill my stomach," Ye Wuya nodded and replied.

"Okay! Please wait a moment, Senior, I'll be right back!" Dragging the coffin lid, Jiang Xiaoxiao charged toward the Green-Scaled Boar.

Seeing this tiny human charging at it while dragging a three-or-four-meter-long bronze lid, the Green-Scaled Boar realized this was no ordinary coffin lid. The ancient aura radiating from it filled the beast with a sense of intense danger.

Without a second thought, the beast’s instinct took over. It turned tail and ran!

But how could it possibly outrun Jiang Xiaoxiao, who was in the Golden Core Realm?

A fierce gust of wind whistled past the boar's ears.

"Thud!"

The ground trembled, and in the forest, countless birds were startled into flight, their wings flapping noisily as they ascended into the sky.

Poor Green-Scaled Boar was struck directly on the head by the coffin lid swung by Jiang Xiaoxiao. With a dull thud, its vision went black, its limbs stiffened, and with a final "boom," it was flattened into the ground by the coffin lid.

"What a violent little girl," Ye Wuya whispered with a sigh. He had thought Jiang Xiaoxiao was a gentle and kind-hearted young lady, but seeing this, he realized one should never judge a girl by her appearance. Otherwise, a pure and adorable goddess might just shatter your worldview.

Jiang Xiaoxiao’s petite frame stood in striking contrast to the massive Green-Scaled Boar and the coffin lid.

Ye Wuya watched calmly as Jiang Xiaoxiao dragged the boar back, remaining silent. He was, however, more interested in the coffin lid she held in her other hand. After all, he had seen it with his own eyes: Jiang Xiaoxiao hadn't released a shred of spiritual energy or cultivation power; she had simply used the sheer weight of that lid to instantly kill a Form-Gathering Realm beast.

Ye Wuya quietly studied the coffin lid. Noticing his gaze, Jiang Xiaoxiao quickly put it away. This lid was her prized treasure, and being stared at so intently by Ye Wuya made her somewhat flustered.

She tossed the Green-Scaled Boar, with its tusks, to the side.

"Thud!"

The impact of the thousand-pound boar shook the ground.

"Can you cook?" Ye Wuya asked, looking at the approaching girl.

"Uh, Senior Ye, I don't know how to cook," Jiang Xiaoxiao replied. As the Saintess of the Immortal Moon Sacred Land, she had everything she could ever want; naturally, she had never learned to cook.

"Fine. You're in luck. There's a small river ahead; drag the boar over there," Ye Wuya said, offering no further comment.

The boar had been killed instantly by the blow, its seven orifices bleeding. Ye Wuya had eaten plenty of wild boar in his time, and though he hadn't tasted the meat of this world yet, it was bound to be even better.

Before long, they reached the riverbank.

Jiang Xiaoxiao watched as Ye Wuya took out a blue longsword to process the boar. One strike sent sparks flying, leaving only a faint mark on the hide without piercing it. It showed just how formidable the boar’s defenses were.

Infusing the blue sword with sword intent, the area around Ye Wuya suddenly felt sharp and keen. With another swift stroke, the boar’s scales were sliced open with ease, meeting no resistance at all. He quickly gutted and cleaned the carcass.

Jiang Xiaoxiao watched this scene with curiosity. As a noble Saintess, she had never seen such a thing. Ever since she was brought to the Immortal Moon Sacred Land, she had remained within its walls, cultivating and studying arts. It was only after she broke through to the Golden Core Realm that she was allowed to venture out for training.

In less than half a quarter of an hour, Ye Wuya had cleaned the boar thoroughly.

"Whoosh!"

A flash of sword energy swept by, and a large tree nearby crashed down.

Moments later, the boar was mounted on a makeshift grill. The Saintess wisely gathered a pile of firewood, acting just like an ordinary person.

Fire was lit, and the pig began to roast.

Jiang Xiaoxiao sat to the side, resting her chin on her hands, watching Ye Wuya tend to the meat. The scene was warm and tranquil.

As night fell, the white moonlight spilled across the ground. A tempting aroma drifted out, making Jiang Xiaoxiao swallow her saliva in secret. This was her first time experiencing such a scene.

Ripples danced on the water’s surface, reflecting the moonlight and adding to the quiet, glowing twilight. The smoke curled upward, a gentle breeze brushed their faces—it was a perfect evening in the south.

...

The golden, roasted meat glistened with fat. Ye Wuya crushed some aromatic leaves he had found into a powder and sprinkled it over the finished meat.

He sliced a piece of meat from the boar's thigh with his sword and handed it to Jiang Xiaoxiao. "Try this."

Jiang Xiaoxiao took it and said, "Thank you, Senior Ye."

She tore off a tiny bit of the charred, golden meat and, lifting her white veil just enough, placed it in her mouth. The tender, fresh texture made her eyes light up.

Ye Wuya was much less refined. He had been hungry for a long time, so he simply grabbed a leg of the boar and began to gnaw on it, eating in large, hearty mouthfuls.

He devoured the entire tens-of-pounds leg, and in no time, only the bone remained. Glancing at Jiang Xiaoxiao, he saw she hadn't even finished her small piece. Not caring much, he tore off the other leg and continued to feast ravenously.
