Chapter 31: Live Broadcast—Martial Arts for All
Little Dragon Maiden lowered her head, earnestly watching the scrolling comments. Though the simplified characters differed somewhat from the script she was accustomed to, by guessing and inferring she managed to understand most of them.
“Greetings, Little Dragon Maiden.”
“Hello, Miss.”
“Hello, Little Sister.”
“Greetings, Fairy Sister.”
“Dragon Maiden, hugs.”
…
“Hello, everyone,” Little Dragon Maiden said happily.
She turned to Liang Xiaoyu. “The people here are so polite.”
Polite?
Liang Xiaoyu looked at her, puzzled, then glanced at the comments. Sure enough, nearly everyone was just saying hello. There were also remarks like “We’re all Young Pioneers,” and “Anyone unruly gets banned.” She checked again and found that a number of users had indeed been muted.
After half a minute of observation, Liang Xiaoyu understood the situation. The entire streaming platform had made terms like “Guo’er,” “Dragon Knight,” and “Yin Zhiping” prohibited words—anyone mentioning them was permanently muted.
“That’s ruthless!” Liang Xiaoyu thought.
She looked up at Little Dragon Maiden. “It’s because you’re beautiful. If I looked like me, no one would be so polite.”
“Haha, the host really knows herself.”
“Poor Xiaoyu.”
“Tigers weep.”
“If nobody wants you, I’ll take the host home.”
“Don’t feel bad, Xiaoyu. Granny Sun is even uglier.”
Granny Sun, watching the stream, twitched her lips but said nothing.
Liang Xiaoyu caught her glance, cleared her throat, and asked, “Little Dragon Maiden, will you really teach everyone martial arts here in the future?”
“Mr. Qiao said that Granny Sun and I should teach the ‘Complete Truth Manual’ and sword techniques here for free every day,” Little Dragon Maiden replied. “If anyone wants more advanced techniques, they can buy them once the Scripture Pavilion opens.”
“Scripture Pavilion?” Liang Xiaoyu was intrigued.
“Mr. Qiao said it’ll take some time,” Little Dragon Maiden explained. “There will be top-tier martial arts like the ‘Nine Yin Manual’ there.”
Liang Xiaoyu longed for it, wishing she could buy a copy of the ‘Nine Yin Manual’ right now and, after mastering the ‘Nine Yin Divine Claw,’ climb rocks barehanded again.
But for now, something more practical…
“How is the ‘Complete Truth Manual’?” Liang Xiaoyu asked.
“It’s decent,” Little Dragon Maiden said calmly.
Among the foundational techniques taught by various sects, the ‘Complete Truth Manual’ was considered quite good. Though the Ancient Tomb Sect and the Complete Truth Sect were rivals, she would not speak against her conscience.
“Can you teach me now?” Liang Xiaoyu asked, thick-skinned.
“Of course.” Little Dragon Maiden smiled.
Liang Xiaoyu clenched her fists in delight, wishing she could hug and kiss this fairy.
She glanced at the live comments, as expected.
The gifts were flying, and the barrage was thick.
“I want to learn too.”
“Xiaoyu, please help us out.”
“So excited, don’t end the stream!”
“Little Dragon Maiden is the most beautiful!”
“Kind and beautiful, please teach us too.”
…
Liang Xiaoyu hesitated a little. “The viewers want to learn as well—would that be alright?”
Little Dragon Maiden frowned. “Without an expert to guide you, practicing incorrectly can be dangerous.”
“No worries.”
“We aren’t afraid of death.”
“I’m in the hospital—ICU ready if needed.”
“I’m at the crematorium, ready for the furnace.”
…
Liang Xiaoyu smiled wryly and showed Little Dragon Maiden the phone screen.
Little Dragon Maiden’s expression barely changed.
In fact, she pitied the people of this world. Despite possessing so many wondrous things, they begged for something so ordinary and were unable to obtain it.
She considered, then said, “The ‘Complete Truth Manual’ is balanced and moderate. The risk isn’t especially high, but if anyone feels unwell, they must stop immediately.”
Liang Xiaoyu turned to the stream. “Did everyone hear? Don’t push yourselves.”
Then she asked Little Dragon Maiden, “Shall we begin?”
Little Dragon Maiden nodded.
They walked to the center of the plaza.
There was an area labeled “Practice Zone.”
On the ground were many meditation mats.
Little Dragon Maiden had Liang Xiaoyu sit cross-legged, corrected her posture, and then sat opposite.
As a disciple of the Ancient Tomb Sect, learning the Complete Truth Sect’s foundation was a tradition, and thus the ‘Complete Truth Manual’ was one of her required arts.
Under her guidance, after half an hour, Liang Xiaoyu finally felt a stream of energy arise in her lower abdomen.
Inner energy!
Liang Xiaoyu was thrilled, but the newly formed energy instantly dispersed.
She was undeterred, continuing to recite the manual silently, seeking that trace of inner energy.
…
Outside Yunling Mountain.
A vast temporary military camp had been established.
A division was stationed here.
At the camp’s center, a massive LCD screen displayed Liang Xiaoyu’s live stream.
Below the screen, hundreds of soldiers sat cross-legged.
They silently recited the manual, sensing the flow of inner energy within.
After a while, a young soldier exclaimed, “I feel it!”
“Quiet!” the officer in front glared.
The soldier stuck out his tongue and resumed his meditation.
Soon, more faces lit up with joy.
…
Similar scenes played out worldwide.
Even atop Zhongnan Mountain, many Taoists placed their phones on chairs or tree branches, sitting cross-legged to practice the ‘Complete Truth Manual.’
Compared to those in China, foreigners had almost no success.
Not to mention the obscure recitations that left foreigners bewildered.
The confusing diagrams of meridians were overwhelming.
That day, meridian charts sold out both online and offline.
Entrepreneurs bundled all sorts of diagrams and sold them on various platforms.
…
After two hours of meditation, Liang Xiaoyu finally stabilized her inner energy.
She was ecstatic.
Seeing only a handful of viewers progress as she had, while many reported feeling nothing or, worse, ending up in the hospital, she felt exceptionally proud, convinced she was a rare genius.
Facing the camera, she lifted her chin, nostrils angled toward the lens, as if the word “genius” hovered above her forehead.
“Practicing in the fitness plaza greatly enhances insight, increasing your cultivation speed tenfold,” Little Dragon Maiden said. “Xiaoyu, you should come here whenever you have time.”
Tenfold speed?
Liang Xiaoyu’s mouth hung open, then she lowered her head.
“Haha, so the host had an advantage.”
“That smug look just now.”
“I knew it, how can a Xingyi practitioner lose to a streamer?”
“Xiaoyu, you can’t show your face now.”
“Host, please ask Little Dragon Maiden why my kidneys hurt after practicing.”
…
Liang Xiaoyu was silent for a moment, then relayed some questions from the stream.
Little Dragon Maiden was not impatient, but answered them seriously.
“Um,” Liang Xiaoyu hesitated, “everyone wants to see your martial arts—if it’s convenient?”
She was not from the martial arts world and didn’t know if this was taboo.
