Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Opening
Qin Feng couldn't help but laugh quietly and said, "Don't worry, I'm not foolish. I know how to make choices."
Truth be told, Qin Feng was genuinely grateful to Lin Wanting. Although this trip to Myanmar was fraught with danger, Lin Wanting still placed her trust in him.
Lin Wanting nodded and continued, "I'm relieved to hear you think this way. Tomorrow, we'll set off for Myanmar. If you run into any trouble, remember to reach out to him."
Following her gesture, Qin Feng looked in the direction Lin Wanting pointed and noticed Ah Hu, who had a sturdy, honest appearance. His amiable demeanor was unexpectedly comforting.
"Alright," Qin Feng replied calmly with a nod.
"Ah Hu, take them to the hotel first," Lin Wanting instructed, then led Qin Feng away.
Ah Hu nodded, turned, and left the airport with the group, taking them by car to the most luxurious nearby star-rated hotel.
...
That night, as darkness fell, the neon lights of Guangcheng gradually flickered on, transforming the bustling metropolis into something straight out of a dream.
"No wonder it's called the city of tourism—it's truly beautiful," Qin Feng sighed, gazing out through the floor-to-ceiling window. He glanced at the time; it was nearly ten o'clock.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He opened it to see a message from Lin Wanting.
"Rest early. We're leaving at seven tomorrow morning."
Looking at her message, he replied, "You too. Good night."
Qin Feng lay down on the bed, but he didn't sleep. Instead, he pondered the teachings passed down to him.
The legacy contained numerous methods and techniques for alchemy and talisman crafting.
Qin Feng was just beginning, stuck at a bottleneck, so he decided to give it a try.
He sat cross-legged on the bed, calming his mind, closing his eyes, and began guiding spiritual energy into his body as described in the legacy's techniques.
It was his first attempt at cultivation, and naturally, he dared not be careless; every moment was handled with utmost caution.
A cool stream of spiritual energy slowly gathered within him, flowing through his meridians to every part of his body, ultimately converging at his dantian, swirling around him as wisps of pale mist.
Qin Feng anxiously monitored the changes in his dantian, but after a while, he relaxed.
Ever since he gained the ability to see through things, he could inspect his own internal organs, observing the state of his body.
As the spiritual energy accumulated, Qin Feng could clearly sense subtle changes within himself. The once empty dantian was now gently filled with spiritual energy, like barren land gradually coming alive.
He carefully guided this power along the intricate paths described in the legacy, each cycle refining his control over the energy.
Time slipped by, and Qin Feng gradually became immersed in this mysterious state of cultivation.
The noisy world seemed distant, leaving only himself and the spiritual energy resonating in harmony with heaven and earth.
His focus was sharper than ever, his thoughts clearer and keener.
Then, Qin Feng suddenly sensed a strange fluctuation deep within his dantian.
The tranquil white mist began to churn, faint golden light flickering, as if some force was awakening.
Startled, he quickly followed the legacy's instructions, steadying his mind and increasing the guidance of spiritual energy, trying to calm the sudden change.
However, this force didn't obey him; instead, it grew stronger, eventually condensing in his dantian as a tiny golden point of light.
Though minuscule, the light held astonishing energy, making Qin Feng feel a surge of unprecedented power within him.
He realized this might be the "seed of spiritual power" mentioned in the legacy.
Just as Qin Feng prepared to further explore the mysteries of the seed, he was overwhelmed by a powerful fatigue, as if all his strength had been drained.
It was the body's warning after overexertion during his first cultivation.
So, he slowly ended the practice and opened his eyes, only to find the night outside was deep, the world silent.
Qin Feng let out a long breath, his heart filled with indescribable joy and excitement.
The next morning, when the first rays of sunlight pierced the clouds and entered the room, Qin Feng was already up and ready.
He stepped out, finding Lin Wanting, Ah Hu, and the others prepared and waiting for him.
"Qin Feng, you look quite refreshed," Lin Wanting teased with a smile.
Qin Feng smiled back, "Yes, I slept well last night."
He said nothing of his cultivation, for it was his secret and his trump card.
"Let's head out," Lin Wanting waved, signaling everyone to follow.
The group resumed their journey to Myanmar.
...
"Ha ha, Miss Lin, I've heard so much about you!"
They took a plane directly to Myanmar, and as soon as they disembarked, several black business vehicles pulled up in front of them.
A burly middle-aged man jumped out, calling out loudly.
Qin Feng looked up and saw the man was over two meters tall, impressively robust, with a thick beard that lent him an air of authority and dominance.
Lin Wanting smiled and greeted him, "Boss Ma!"
After a handshake, Boss Ma looked at Qin Feng behind her.
"This must be Master Yan's apprentice, Qin Feng?"
Qin Feng nodded.
He replied with a slight bow, "Since we're here for jade, stone gambling is inevitable."
Boss Ma laughed heartily, "A clever young man indeed! Come, let's get in the car!"
They soon arrived at their destination, a high-end jade company in a border town of Myanmar.
Led by a company representative, Qin Feng and his companions entered the VIP lounge, where dozens of jewelry merchants and master carvers were engaged in lively discussion.
As Lin Wanting entered the hall, she immediately drew everyone's attention, attracting envious and admiring gazes.
After all, a beauty of her caliber would turn heads wherever she went.
"President Ma, you're here!" The representative hurried over, smiling warmly at Boss Ma.
"No need for formalities," Boss Ma replied, shaking hands and then introducing Qin Feng.
"This is President Wang."
Qin Feng offered a polite greeting, but he had little interest in such people and didn't care for empty pleasantries.
"Mr. Qin, so young and already accomplished—truly a hero among youth," a greasy, overweight man approached, trying to ingratiate himself.
Qin Feng glanced at him and replied indifferently, "You're too kind."
The man laughed awkwardly.
"This is Boss Zhao..."
"Alright, the bidding is about to start. Let's head inside."
