In recent days, the news that Jade Pavilion had been closed for internal reorganization had already spread far and wide. Under normal circumstances, it would have been impossible for anyone to get in touch with him.

“Miss, Li Jingya?”

Qin Feng was somewhat at a loss. After all, he didn’t know many people, and among those who could be addressed as “Miss,” there were only two: Lin Wanting and Li Jingya.

Hearing the woman’s words, Qin Feng nodded and said, “Alright, let’s go inside and talk in detail.”

He followed Chen Qian into the office. After they sat down, Chen Qian personally brought over two cups of hot tea and placed them on the table.

“Mr. Qin, we have been following your work for some time and know that you’re currently involved in jewelry design. However, you seem to have been avoiding us, so today, we took the liberty of reaching out,” Chen Qian said politely.

Qin Feng took a sip of tea and replied, “Given my current position, do you think I’m suited for this kind of arrangement?”

Chen Qian nodded. “Absolutely. However, we’d like to offer you a partnership this time.”

“You mean, you’re willing to provide funding?” Qin Feng raised his eyebrows in surprise.

Chen Qian cleared her throat. “Yes, that’s right. We intend to acquire your company. But you’d need to sign a contract stating that ownership of the company falls under our umbrella, with us holding control. In other words, if the company faces any crisis, you would be required to serve the company—helping it through any difficulties, for example.”

Chen Qian’s words left Qin Feng uncertain about her true intentions.

“And what would I gain from this?” Qin Feng asked after a moment of thought.

Chen Qian replied, “Rest assured, Lin Wanting would remain as president. After all, Jade Pavilion was never a Lin Group subsidiary; it was Lin Wanting’s own achievement. As for the Lin Group, we’ll also lend our support when the time comes. All you need to do is focus on your own work.”

After hearing this, Qin Feng fell into deep thought. He analyzed the situation carefully and soon reached a conclusion. Though Chen Qian’s proposal sounded dignified, at the core, she simply wanted to use Jade Pavilion as a springboard to expand her own influence.

“We’re businesspeople—we never make losing trades. Are you interested?” Chen Qian suddenly asked.

Qin Feng smiled. “And if I refuse?”

A trace of regret flickered across Chen Qian’s face. “Then we’ll have no choice but to settle for a collaboration with the Liu family. But rest assured, we won’t suppress you.”

With these words, Qin Feng gained a general understanding and nodded.

“I agree, but I still need to discuss it with Wanting. Could I give you my answer tomorrow?”

Chen Qian smiled and nodded. “Of course, Mr. Qin—you’re a cautious man, and we understand. We look forward to your good news tomorrow. If you have any questions or need further discussion, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”

Qin Feng stood, shook hands with Chen Qian, thanked her for her understanding and professionalism, and then left the office building.

Walking home, his thoughts were a maelstrom of emotions.

Once home, Qin Feng immediately called Lin Wanting and recounted his meeting with Chen Qian in detail.

On the other end, Lin Wanting was silent for a moment, clearly thinking carefully.

“Qin Feng, I think this partnership could be an opportunity for us. Though we lost the expo for now, if we can secure support from this group from the capital—be it funding or resources—it will be a crucial boost for us to rise again,” Lin Wanting’s voice came through the phone.

Qin Feng felt somewhat reassured. “That’s what I think too. Still, we need to proceed cautiously and make sure the contract terms are in our favor. We can’t let them use our predicament to force a low price.”

“Exactly. I’ll go with you tomorrow to meet them in person and discuss the contract details,” Lin Wanting suggested.

Qin Feng agreed, and after a brief exchange, they ended the call.

He sat on the sofa, gazing at the night beyond the window, his heart filled with both anticipation and unease.

Early the next morning, Qin Feng and Lin Wanting headed together to the Li family’s company.

Chen Qian was already waiting for them. When she saw them arrive, she greeted them warmly and led them into the conference room.

Inside, besides Chen Qian, there was a middle-aged man in a business suit with a composed and steady demeanor—clearly a key member.

After brief pleasantries, they went straight to the point.

“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bai Chen, and I’m the Director of Investments at Baiyun Group,” he said. “I assume Chen Qian explained everything yesterday. If you’re ready, please have a look at this contract.”

With that, he handed over a folder.

Qin Feng flipped through it and found that it was a share transfer agreement. As long as he signed according to the terms, his company would belong to Baiyun Group.

“I’m not very familiar with this share transfer agreement. Could you explain it?” Qin Feng said calmly.

“This is a new jewelry brand our group intends to launch, called ‘Blue Ocean.’ We plan to invest ten billion Daxia currency. Our stake would be thirty-five percent, meaning Jade Pavilion would become our affiliate and work with us,” Bai Chen explained.

Qin Feng was taken aback. Despite all the favorable conditions Chen Qian had raised the day before, he hadn’t expected them to ask for only thirty-five percent. Were they crazy? Did they have so much money they didn’t know what to do with it? Or were they trying to take advantage of him?

But as soon as that suspicion arose, he dismissed it. He knew full well they had no reason to deceive him. If they truly wanted Jade Pavilion, they could simply partner with the Liu family and take it outright; in that case, Qin Feng wouldn’t be left with even a shred.

With this realization, Qin Feng felt a sense of calm.

Still, he didn’t accept immediately. Pretending to ponder, he finally spoke, “Our company’s main business is jadeite raw materials. What exactly would you require of me?”

At his question, Chen Qian and Bai Chen exchanged a glance, their eyes betraying a hint of relief.

Bai Chen answered quickly, “Our group plans to invest in producing jadeite jewelry. You can provide us with the finest jadeite materials—ice jadeite, glass jadeite, even high-grade ice jadeite would be ideal.”
