Qin Feng took the list and examined it carefully, then nodded with satisfaction. "Very good. This time, we must make thorough preparations and leave no room for error."
"Don't worry, Brother Feng. I can hardly wait to see what that legendary ancient temple is really like!" Zhang Hu rubbed his hands excitedly and said.
Qin Feng smiled, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes. "I'm looking forward to it too. This trip to the Tibetan region is sure to be interesting..."
Three days later, Qin Feng met with Yang Tianchen, Zhang Hu, and members of the Black Dragon Society at an airport on the border of the Tibetan region.
When Mu Teng saw Qin Feng, his face wore a false smile, but Qin Feng noticed a cruel gleam flickering in his eyes.
"Mr. Qin, long time no see! Looks like you're ready to go treasure hunting with me?" Mu Teng said with a forced smile.
"Of course. I always keep my promises," Qin Feng replied calmly.
"Good! Then let's not waste any time. Let's set off!"
With a wave of his hand, Mu Teng led the group toward the off-road vehicles parked outside the airport. All of this was observed by a shadow hiding in the darkness.
"Qin Feng, you better pray your choice this time is right, or else..." the shadow whispered lowly.
The wind in the Tibetan region carried a biting chill, whipping sand and gravel against the vehicles, creating a crackling sound.
The rugged mountain road jostled violently, even the high-performance off-road vehicles struggling like boats tossed in stormy seas.
"What the hell, why is the road so rough in this godforsaken place?"
Zhang Hu was tossed around, complaining bitterly.
Yang Tianchen was also jostled but teased him, "What's the matter, Big Zhang? Can't handle a little hardship? Want me to carry you?"
"Get lost!" Zhang Hu laughed and cursed, then glanced at the steady Qin Feng beside him. "Brother Feng, how much farther do we have to go?"
Qin Feng studied the map intently, frowning slightly. "According to the map, there’s a stretch of primeval forest ahead. Passing through it will bring us near our destination."
"Forest?"
Zhang Hu’s face changed. "This deep mountain forest—are there wild beasts here?"
"What’s there to fear? We’re in a group, a few wild animals won’t scare us," Yang Tianchen said casually, though his tone betrayed some uncertainty.
At that moment, Mu Teng, who had been silent, spoke with a fake smile. "Mr. Qin, this map was provided by your side. Are we sure it’s accurate?"
Qin Feng glanced at him coolly. "We’ll know when we get there whether the map is true or false."
A shadow crossed Mu Teng’s eyes, but he quickly resumed his smile. "Right, right, I was just overthinking."
As the convoy pressed deeper, the mountain path grew more treacherous, eventually becoming impassable even for the off-road vehicles.

With no choice, everyone had to disembark and proceed on foot.
"Damn it, this broken place! I should never have come!"
Zhang Hu complained as he struggled to push aside the thorny bushes blocking the path.
"Enough with the complaints," Yang Tianchen patted his shoulder. "Just think of it as a workout."
Qin Feng led the group, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings, ever watchful of the environment.
The forest was unnervingly silent; apart from the crunch of leaves underfoot, there was almost no other sound.
"Everyone be careful. Something’s not right here," Qin Feng whispered.
Suddenly, a strange low growl echoed from the depths of the forest, sending chills down everyone’s spines and filling them with an inexplicable dread.
"What was that?!" Zhang Hu shouted, his voice trembling.
"Sounds like... a wild animal!" Yang Tianchen’s face darkened.
A deafening roar tore through the silence.
Then a massive black shape burst from the thicket, lunging at the Black Dragon Society members at the rear of the group.
"Ah!"
A piercing scream echoed in the quiet forest. The member had no chance to react before being knocked to the ground, blood instantly staining the earth.
"What the hell is that monster?!" Zhang Hu yelled in terror.
The black shape was huge, covered in black fur.
Its blood-red eyes gleamed with a murderous glow, and its sharp fangs looked like daggers, sending chills down their spines.
"Bad news! It’s a Tibetan mastiff!"
Qin Feng immediately recognized the fierce beast.
"Tibetan... mastiff?!"
Zhang Hu’s face turned ashen. "Isn’t that supposed to be a guard dog for herdsmen? How is it out here?!"
"Enough talk! Run!"
Qin Feng shouted, leading the charge forward.

Only then did everyone react, breaking into a run.
However, the Tibetan mastiff was incredibly fast, quickly catching up to the last few Black Dragon Society members. Its sharp claws and teeth created a spray of blood as screams pierced the air.
"Damn it! These bastards are treating us like cannon fodder!"
Yang Tianchen cursed furiously while running.
"Now's not the time for this. Just save your life first!"
Qin Feng yelled, grabbing Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu. The three quickly veered off from the main group, running in a different direction.
But the mastiff seemed to have targeted them specifically, abandoning the others to chase after Qin Feng’s trio.
"Damn! Why won’t this beast leave us alone?!"
Zhang Hu panted heavily.
"Don’t talk, follow me!"
Qin Feng weaved through the dense forest, trying to shake off the pursuer.
Yet the forest seemed endless; no matter how fast they ran, they couldn’t lose the monster.
Suddenly, Qin Feng noticed a cliff ahead. Below was a bottomless abyss shrouded in mist, making it impossible to see the depth.
"A cliff ahead. We’re trapped!" Yang Tianchen shouted.
"Damn it! Let’s fight this beast to the death!"
Zhang Hu roared, pulling a pistol from his waist and firing several shots at the mastiff.
However, the bullets only caused a few blood splatters, failing to stop the beast’s advance.
"Useless. This beast’s hide is thick. Handguns won’t do any good!"
Qin Feng’s heart sank as the mastiff closed in.
With no escape at the cliff’s edge, could they really be doomed here?
"Brother Feng, what do we do?!"
Zhang Hu’s voice faltered, his hand trembling as he gripped the pistol.
Yang Tianchen was calmer but looked grim. He grabbed Zhang Hu’s arm. "Don’t waste bullets. This beast is beyond us!"
"Damn it! I’m going to fight it!" Zhang Hu’s eyes reddened, and he tried to fire again.
