“Damn it, Tianchen and Zhang Hu are in danger!”

With that thought, Qin Feng no longer hesitated. His figure blurred as he set off in pursuit of Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu.

Qin Feng swept along the mountain path like a gust of wind, a dark cloud hanging over his heart.

The scar-faced man’s expression before death, his words about being “a mere chess piece,” and the message on his phone reading, “The goods are in hand”—all of it continued to circle in Qin Feng’s mind.

His instincts told him that Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu were in trouble.

He raced onward and finally spotted that familiar figure on the outskirts of the valley, where the convoy had been parked.

A little dust clung to Yang Tianchen’s clothes. He wielded a short blade with fluid, effortless movements, yet his weariness was impossible to conceal.

Zhang Hu looked even worse. Blood marked his muscular body from head to toe, clearly showing that he had already fought with everything he had.

More than a dozen men in black had them completely surrounded. Each carried a sharp blade, and every move was vicious. They were obviously trained thugs.

“Damn it! Looks like I’m going to die here today!”

Zhang Hu spat out a mouthful of blood and roared.

“Stop wasting your breath. Stall them as long as you can. A-Feng will definitely come back!”

Yang Tianchen spoke in a low voice, the short blade in his hand darting like a venomous snake’s tongue, every strike aimed directly at a vital point.

Seeing this, Qin Feng’s gaze turned cold. With a low growl, he charged into the battle like a fierce tiger descending from the mountains.

“Bang!”

“Crack!”

Fists and feet collided, while the sound of breaking bones rang through the silent valley with jarring clarity.

Qin Feng struck with merciless precision, every move aimed to kill. Those men in black were no match for him at all, and in an instant, a whole group of them lay sprawled on the ground.

The remaining men paled with fear. They threw down their weapons and fled in all directions.

Qin Feng ignored the underlings and hurried over to Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu.

“How are you? Are your injuries serious?”

“Nothing serious. Just superficial wounds.”

Zhang Hu grinned. “Brother Feng, you’re still the best. The moment you showed up, you took care of those bastards!”

Yang Tianchen gave a slight nod as well. “Thank goodness you arrived in time. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable.”

“What happened?” Qin Feng asked, his brows tightly furrowed. “Weren’t you heading up the mountain? How did you end up back down here?”

Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu exchanged a glance, solemnity flashing through both their eyes.

“It was the Hong Gang.”

Yang Tianchen’s voice deepened. “We were ambushed on the way. They had overwhelming numbers, and we were badly outmatched…”

“The Hong Gang?”

A cold glint flashed through Qin Feng’s eyes. “Looks like they want revenge for what happened at the auction.”

“That’s right!” Zhang Hu said through clenched teeth. “Those bastards actually dared to ambush us. Once Brother Feng’s injuries are healed, we’ll go wipe out their hideout!”

“Don’t act recklessly yet.”

Qin Feng waved a hand. “This matter isn’t that simple. The Hong Gang is only a pawn. Someone else is giving the orders from behind the scenes.”

“You mean…” Yang Tianchen’s gaze sharpened.

“I suspect the Hong Gang wants to get its hands on this Stone Buddha as well.”

Qin Feng spoke gravely. “As for the person behind all this, they probably have an entirely different motive…”

“The Stone Buddha?”

Zhang Hu scratched his head. “Isn’t that thing just a broken piece of rock? What could anyone possibly want with it?”

Qin Feng offered no explanation. Only a sharp glimmer passed through his eyes.

He had a feeling that this Stone Buddha was far more complicated than it appeared.

And somehow, he too seemed to have been dragged into a vast conspiracy…

“Brother Feng, are we really going to the hospital? I’m tough as nails. I can just go home, rub on some medicinal oil, and be done with it!”

Zhang Hu spoke carelessly, completely ignoring the wound on his arm that was still seeping blood.

Yang Tianchen said nothing, but he frowned slightly. After all, he had practiced martial arts since childhood.

Injuries of this severity were nothing to him. Going to the hospital would only waste time.

Qin Feng shot Zhang Hu a glance, a trace of helplessness in his voice. “Enough nonsense. Are you made of iron or diamond? The Hong Gang came prepared this time. Those men struck viciously, aiming for your vital points every time. Do you think this was some kind of game?”

“I’m only worried about you, Brother Feng! You’re badly hurt too. We need to find somewhere safe as soon as possible…”

“I’m fine.”

Qin Feng cut him off calmly. Recalling everything that had happened, he finally realized the truth.

“The Hong Gang clearly set a trap this time to lure us in. There’s definitely an even greater conspiracy behind it. What we need most right now is to find out their objective as quickly as possible, not waste time here.”

“Then… where do we go?” Zhang Hu asked, scratching his head in confusion.

“First, we’ll go to a hospital in the Tibetan region.”

Qin Feng’s tone was firm. “We’ll get our injuries treated first. We can discuss everything else after we arrive.”

The atmosphere inside the vehicle was tense and stifling all the way there. Not one of them spoke.

Worried that the two men might reopen their wounds, Qin Feng did not let either of them drive.

The hospital in the Tibetan region was a famous top-tier tertiary hospital in the area, not far from the valley where they had been.

After roughly two hours on the road, the vehicle stopped in front of the hospital.

The moment he got out, Qin Feng felt a chill sweep over him, mingled with the smell of disinfectant. It eased his already restless mood somewhat.

“Let’s go.”

Qin Feng entered the hospital first, with Yang Tianchen and Zhang Hu close behind.

The hospital lobby was crowded with patients and their families moving in every direction.

The three of them went to the registration desk. After briefly explaining their situation, they were sent to the emergency department.

Qin Feng made arrangements for Zhang Hu and Yang Tianchen. Only after watching the two troublemakers support each other as they limped toward the examination rooms did he finally relax and turn toward the restroom.

Cold water splashed over his face. Qin Feng wiped it away and stared at his slightly weary reflection in the mirror, his emotions in turmoil.

Ever since he had become involved with the Stone Buddha, trouble had followed one thing after another.

First, the Hong Gang had targeted them at the auction. Now they had been ambushed for no apparent reason. Could all of this truly be a coincidence?

Qin Feng shook his head, casting aside the chaotic thoughts filling his mind.

His top priority was to hide the Stone Buddha somewhere secure, then slowly investigate the truth behind everything that had happened.

With that thought, he quickly left the restroom and headed toward the parking lot.

Yet when he reached the parking area, he immediately realized that something was wrong.

The off-road vehicle that had been parked there had its windows smashed to pieces, and the lockbox containing the Stone Buddha was gone without a trace!

Qin Feng’s pupils contracted sharply as a nameless fury surged from the depths of his heart straight to his head.

“Damn it!”

He cursed under his breath and slammed his fist hard into the wall beside him, producing a dull thud.

In broad daylight, someone had actually dared to come to the hospital and steal from them. Their audacity was unbelievable!

Qin Feng drew a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.

This was no time to lose his temper. His immediate priority was to find the thief and recover the Stone Buddha!

He swept his gaze around, searching for any clues.

Before long, his eyes locked onto the ground a short distance away.

Several tiny shards of glass lay scattered there, reflecting cold glints beneath the sunlight.

Qin Feng hurried over and crouched down to examine them carefully.

It was obvious that someone had deliberately left these glass shards here. Judging from their shape and size, they appeared to have been produced by cutting with some kind of tool.
