Chapter 141: The Jianghu Death Warrant
"Ah Feng, what should we do now?" Bai Ruoxi gripped Qin Feng's hand tightly, her beautiful eyes filled with worry.
"Don't panic. When the soldiers come, we use a general; when the water rises, we use earth to block it. Since the Wang family wants to play, I’ll play along with them!"
A flash of ruthlessness crossed Qin Feng’s eyes, and his lips curled into a cold, sharp arc. He had never been a fish on a chopping block; whoever dared to reach out their claws, he would hack them off!
"Zhang Hu!" Qin Feng called out to the empty air.
"Brother Feng, I'm here!" Zhang Hu’s figure appeared behind Qin Feng, his tone respectful.
"Go and investigate. See what kind of unknown people have recently entered the capital. Remember, I want the most detailed information," Qin Feng ordered coldly.
"Understood, Brother Feng!" Zhang Hu accepted the order and vanished into the night.
"Ah Feng, are you really going to go head-to-head with the Wang family?" Bai Ruoxi asked with concern.
"Don't worry, Ruoxi. I have a plan," Qin Feng said, patting her hand gently to reassure her. "A mere Wang family cannot stop me."
Though he said this, Qin Feng knew clearly that this situation was likely not so simple. The Wang family had been established in the capital for years; they were deeply rooted, with intricate networks in both the underworld and the establishment. Toppling them would be no easy feat. However, Qin Feng was not fighting alone; he still had Jiang Yuechan.
Thinking of this, he took out his phone and dialed her number. "Hello, Yuechan, do me a favor..."
...
Over the next few days, the capital appeared calm on the surface, but undercurrents surged beneath. Martial artists from various factions, like sharks smelling blood, poured into the city, preparing to strike at Qin Feng. Qin Feng, however, went about his life as if nothing were wrong, only occasionally visiting the Tianfeng Pavilion.
Of course, he wasn't just sitting idle; he had asked Jiang Yuechan to help investigate the backgrounds of those martial artists. To win, one must know both oneself and the enemy.
One day, as Qin Feng was closing up the Tianfeng Pavilion, a sharp, piercing murderous aura suddenly emanated from outside the door. Qin Feng frowned, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
"They're here."
He set down his teacup, stood up slowly, and looked toward the entrance. A tall, burly man with a face full of flesh walked in, exuding a menacing aura.
"Are you Qin Feng?" The man glared at him, his tone icy.
"I am. Who are you?" Qin Feng asked indifferently, though he had already sensed that the man before him was at least at the Second Realm.
"Hmph! You’ve offended someone you shouldn't have. Today is your death day!" The man snorted, his murderous intent fully revealed.
"Oh? I’d like to see who wants my life!" Qin Feng’s lips curled into a mocking smile, his eyes filled with disdain.
"Die!"
The man stopped talking and lunged at Qin Feng. He threw a punch, the air whistling as if a gale were passing through, shaking the antique shelves in the shop. Qin Feng was quick; he dodged the punch, then kicked out, aiming for the man’s lower body. The man grunted, neither dodging nor parrying, taking the kick head-on.
*Thud!*
With a muffled sound, Qin Feng felt as if he had kicked a steel plate; a sharp pain shot through the sole of his foot.
"Kid, you've got some skills!" The man looked surprised, but it was quickly replaced by even more intense killing intent. He roared and lunged again, his fists raining down like a storm, every strike lethal.
Qin Feng fought while retreating, his movements ghostly as he dodged the attacks. The Tianfeng Pavilion was cramped, and the man’s attacks were vicious, so Qin Feng looked for an opening to escape. Seeing that he couldn't land a blow after a long struggle, the man roared, his punches growing more fierce. The surrounding antique shelves trembled, on the verge of collapse.
"You mad dog, are you trying to tear the place down?" Qin Feng cursed, then pushed off his toes, retreating to the entrance of the back courtyard. The space there was open—just what he needed. He sneered, "Come on, let me show you what real power is!"
The man grinned hideously and charged into the courtyard, only to find Qin Feng advancing instead of retreating. He felt a surge of joy, thinking the kid was courting death. But the next second, he couldn't laugh anymore.
A sharp light flashed in Qin Feng’s eyes, as if he had anticipated every one of the man's moves. He threw a punch—seemingly plain and simple—that struck the man squarely in the chest. The man felt as if he’d been struck by lightning; a sweetness rose in his throat, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, his massive frame flying backward like a broken sack.
"Is this all the skill you have, daring to run wild in my shop?" Qin Feng dusted off his hands, looking at him with disdain. Just as he prepared to finish the matter, a strong sense of danger washed over him.
He looked up sharply to see a middle-aged man in a Tang suit with a cold, stern expression walking slowly through the gate.
Wang Changqing!
Qin Feng was startled. He hadn't expected the man himself to show up. Wang Changqing’s gaze fell on the man on the ground, his brows knitting slightly. He reached out and channeled a stream of pure internal energy into the man. The man’s pale face regained its color at a visible rate. He struggled to his feet and bowed his head. "Second Master, your subordinate is incompetent..."
"Trash," Wang Changqing spat coldly. "You can't even handle a mere brat; what use are you to me?"
The man trembled, dropping to his knees and daring not to utter a word. Qin Feng became vigilant; Wang Changqing’s strength was unfathomable—he was no match for him. His eyes darted around, a plan forming. He feinted an attack toward Wang Changqing, then moved like lightning toward the other side of the courtyard.
A glint of light flashed in Wang Changqing’s eyes; just as he was about to intervene, Qin Feng had already leaped over the wall and fled the Tianfeng Pavilion.
"Second Master, shall I..." the man began to ask.
"No need," Wang Changqing waved his hand. "Let him go."
"But..." the man was confused.
"What do you know?" Wang Changqing’s lips curled into a cold, sinister smile. "This kid is clearly unusual. A person with no background, yet possessing Second Realm strength. Once this news spreads, others will naturally handle him for us. We only need to sit back and reap the rewards."
The man suddenly understood and nodded repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Qin Feng ran wildly, finally shaking off the pursuit. He hid in a quiet alley, panting heavily.
"Damn you, Wang Changqing, to show up in person!" Qin Feng cursed inwardly, a fierce glint in his eyes. "I will settle this account with you sooner or later!"
He pulled out his phone and dialed Bai Ruoxi’s number. "Ruoxi, something has happened..."
